Should you have TWO flu jabs this winter? It seems the trusted injection wears off faster than we think.
Earlier this year, Professor Stanley Plotkin, a pioneer of vaccines, revealed that he has two flu jabs. The 87-year-old, from the University of Pennsylvania, has one in early autumn, followed by another in December each year. The reason? The trusted flu jab, it seems, wears off far faster than we think

To Go or Not To Go
Well; here it is flu and cold season and Thanksgiving is almost here in the US. I'm supposed to fly next Tuesday to see family and the airline has said expect a wait of 2-1/2 hours to get through security. My daughter's husband is not feeling well, my daughter has a cold and she has three little girls

APS, pregnancy and getting the flu shot?
Hi Everyone I hope you are all well. Well, I've made it to 12 weeks and all was looking positive so far on my last scan this week - baby is measuring 12 weeks, 4 days and had a strong heartbeat. I have now been discharged from the recurrent miscarriage clinic back to my local hospital and have my first

What are you doing to protect yourself now that its flu season?
Did you get a shot? Do you use medical masks in public? Avoid being around young school age kids? Do you have tips for staying healthy? I’ve had my pneumonia and flu shots. My hands are raw from constant washing but I know that’s one of the most important ways to keep colds and flu at bay. Any

Have flu, is extra B12 shot a good idea or not?
I usually get a flu shot (preservative-free for safety) but I waited too long this year and caught the flu. It's been four days of fevers and exhaustion and misery so far. Just horrid. I can see how flu can kill people. I think I'm turning a corner now though, as my symptoms are abating somewhat.

Amlodipine 5 mgs or Flu jab reaction
For some reason my blood pressure has shot up. I am already taking 50 mgs of Atenolol for raised blood pressure but this in in the danger zone with no apparent cause. The GP has arranged various Cardio tests, blood, kidneys within the next couple of weeks, having been alerted by my Rheumatologist last

Flu vaccination side effects and pre-period flareup, help!
Anyone else had the flu vaccination? I've had mine, first ever; voucher from work. All fine, expected symptoms of achey arm, sore injection site, and feeling a little under the weather with the usual side effect symptoms listed. I know it's a Monday morning so we're all a bit tired but does anyone else

Flu jab & sickle cell cisis
Hi warriors! I'm in pain at the moment. I've not had crisis in years but it's happening now 3 days after getting a flu jab. I've always got a flu jab every year without falling into crisis. Is this a coincidence or the jab has triggered the crisis plus all the flu like symptoms (cold, cough & headache

Dr advice
Is there any dr on this site that can provide their thoughts on whether a PBC patient should get a flu vaccine? I am really on the fence and need some advice. Thank you.

Germ Season!
Hi all, As much as I love this time of year (fresh, crisp days, cosy evenings and comfy knits), I also hate it equally because everywhere I go, someone is coughing, spluttering or sneezing and it’s so hard to avoid! My colleague at work had a nasty cold this week and despite her being as careful as

flu jab
I had my flu jab over a week ago then developed a tickly cough, breathlessness on exertion ( more than usual) and still don't feel 100% Has anyone else had a reaction after the flu jab?
