Well, I've made it to 12 weeks and all was looking positive so far on my last scan this week - baby is measuring 12 weeks, 4 days and had a strong heartbeat. I have now been discharged from the recurrent miscarriage clinic back to my local hospital and have my first midwife appt and dating scan in the next couple of weeks. When I was speaking to the midwife on the phone she mentioned getting the flu shot, i told her about my APS status but she didn't know much about it so couldn't give me any advice. I understand flu in pregnancy can be dangerous but I'm concerned about the autoimmune response this may trigger given my positive Anti-Phospholipid Syndrome status and if this could pose a threat? Or because I'm on treatment (cleaxane and aspirin) would this flatten any response i may have had to the vaccine anyway? Has anyone been given/or could give me some advice/guidance in relation to this?
Many thanks x

Fantastic news xxx I think you will be safer having flu shot as advised.... As you know flu is dangerous in pregnancy and other ways... Do you have aps specialist you can ask and you will be still monitored very close rest of your pregnancy. Wishing you all the very best.... Xxx
Hi, there congratulations, and regarding the Flu shot, you must be advised by your GP and or main consultant, many on here do have the Flu shot, including some when pregnant, but it is advice you must see from your medical professionals. I can't have it due to allergies etc. MaryF
Hi, congratulations, I know it's a hard anxious time and each say is a bit nearer.
Flu jab, I'm on clexane and aspirin, and advised to have flu jab, so don't think that's an issue but I'm not pregnant.
The fact the midwife couldn't advise you tells you this is an APS medical question, do you have access to a specialist? If so, send them the question, if not go and discuss with your GP, who if he's not sure, he can access the right medical team to ask.
Thanks Holly. My GP doesn’t know much about APS either. I did when I was under St Mary’s in Paddington but have just been discharged from the clinic there, although I’m sure they wouldn’t mind me phoning and asking the question xx
I had the flu injection whilst pregnant and on Claxane and aspirin! I went on to have a beautiful healthy baby boy 17 months ago! Stay positive and never stop believing

It took 8 years of heartache for my little miracle
I was told -a good 20 years ago by a rheumatologist that flu shots are fine for APLS patients. But pneumonia shots are not. Again, this was ling ago and I have never understood the difference between the 2. Except the rheumy was quite emphatic. Flu shot? Yes. Pneumonia shot? No.
Hi HolluHuges, I went through a miscarriage recently as well and I'm diagnosed with APS. I'm just wondering how was your experience with the treatment protocol.
