Vaccinations and bloodwork
I have a checkup coming soon at MD Anderson and want to get my flu shot. Would the vaccination affect my bloodwork before my visit? I typically get sick with either the flu or covid vaccinations for a day or two.

Flu jab and Thyroid blood tests
Hi, My wife's having her flu jab this evening and a Medichecks blood draw tomorrow at 8. Is this wise; will the flu jab affect the efficacy of the blood tests? Thanks, Decant

When to have the jab.
Three weeks ago I had a mild heart attack. I also had pneumonia. Will I be able to have the flu jab this year & how long after my heart attack? Also would it be a good idea to have the pneumonia jab.

When does covid become long covid? And when does it become a thyroid issue?
Hi all, I can see DippyDame started a similar thread recently which was closed. To avoid that please could we avoid talking about the covid vaccine? I had my 4th booster (amd flu jab, if its relevant) on 14th October and got covid for the first time on 28th October. I tested positive for 8 days.

Interaction Between Tamiflu and Lupron
Recently, I experienced somewhat serious side effects of interaction between Tamiflu and Lupron. I had a 3 month Lupron shot on October 17. Then I had a flu shot on October 24. And on October 26 I tested positive for flu. I was prescribed with Tamiflu by the doctor at the Urgent Care I visited. I completed

Arm still aching after flu jab
At least I think it's because of the flu jab as my left arm didn't start aching until a few days after the injection. I had both flu and covid vaccines together on Oct 27th and my arm is still aching quite a bit when I'm using it and has got worse this past few days if anything. I rarely get an aching

flu shot and immunotherapy
Hello All, My husband has melanoma and is currently on immunotherapy. It was recommended that he get a flu shot but I read it could cause some adverse effects. Does anyone have some information on this or has had a flu shot while on immunotherapy? Thanks so much.

Here We Go Again.
I will try and keep this short. Some of you will remember my endless delays for a follow up cancer op. Well I got that op in December 22. I was sent for by consultant who apologised for the delays and said I had to go on BCG which is -Immunotherapy drugs encourage the body's immune system to

Advice needed, help from my friends here
Because I have a number of medical conditions, both as a result of vasculitis and other things, I have several hospital appointments coming up this month. One of them is my 6 monthly Denosumab bone jab, which must not be delayed by more than a month or my bones will weaken (I already have a fractured

A Newer Type Flu Vaccine, Stronger Dose
I recently posted on selecting the Moderna Covid vax for its larger dose. There is actually a similar choice available for the flu vax. Flu vax is traditionally made by growing it in chicken eggs, this is why you see warnings about any egg allergies. But this process is slow so they need to guess

birthday, flu shot side effects and AFO update!
We’ll things have slowed down just a smidge so I thought I’d pop in for an update….. I’ll work backwards because it’s just easier. Lol, I think it’s an MS thing with me. My new AFO is still being fine tweaked. I’ve had the brace guy at my house 4 times so far. From the footplate being cut too short

Shingles vaccine
Has anyone here has the shingles vaccine? I know that the usual one is a live vaccine but the nurse at the surgery told me that there is a two-dose non-live one I could have if it didn’t compromise my condition. I do have a haematology phone appointment coming up but not for a few weeks yet so I wondered

GCA diagnosed February 2018 Tapering now from 5 to 4.5 Mg Prednisone and would appreciate input.
I've had a long tumultuous relationship with prednisone and would like to kick it to the curb permanently now. Eight weeks ago I had an adrenalectomy because I had a very rare Silent Pheochromocytoma. Blood tests this last week indicated that my remaining adrenal gland is doing its' job nicely and it's

Rituximab
Good morning…it’s 5.00 and it appears to be Duracell bunny time after my second Rituximab infusion yesterday! Please can I ask you lovely people on RTX a couple of questions. My rheumatology department is hard to get hold off at the best of times and I would rather have opinions from fellow RA ‘warriors

Liver Transplant consent letter & liver types
hi, my partner has just been accepted onto the transplant list with a UKELD of 56 and blood group A (this is relevant as have been told the wait for this group is shorter). He has just had the consent form and agonised for ages over which boxes to tick in terms of what livers to accept. It seems so ungrateful
