When to have the jab.

Three weeks ago I had a mild heart attack. I also had pneumonia.

Will I be able to have the flu jab this year & how long after my heart attack?

Also would it be a good idea to have the pneumonia jab.

Sorry to hear about your heart attack…. I think both things need to be discussed with your medical team, sure they will consider flu vaccine necessary but the timing may need discussing. Similarly with pneumonia vaccine, have you completely recovered from the illness?

Those are question for your doctors - there is no-one here qualified to answer them. It will depend on what type of pneumonia you had. I imagine you will be strongly encouraged to have all the appropriate jabs but exactly when is a medical question.

A study said the flu jab should be standard of care after heart attack:

and it has also been recommended it should be SOON after the event.

I can't find anything about the pneumonia jabs - have you not been offered them before as we are eligible at 65?
