birthday, flu shot side effects and AFO update!

We’ll things have slowed down just a smidge so I thought I’d pop in for an update…..

I’ll work backwards because it’s just easier. Lol, I think it’s an MS thing with me.

My new AFO is still being fine tweaked. I’ve had the brace guy at my house 4 times so far. From the footplate being cut too short to the ankle strap irritating the side of my foot. Hell be back on Monday with the new adjustments.🤪

Flu shot this past Monday. Took Advil two hours before, night of and morning after. Long story short; I did not feel better until today. Better than last years side effects. Can’t wait for the booster! Will follow nurses Advil advice again.

Ending on a pleasant note……birthday celebration was really nice. It had been 11 years since my mother, sister, her hubby, my brother and his wife were all together. Added bonus my nephew(godson) was there too!

Whew, I’m tired! Night all!💜🦋

i'm glad you're finally feeling better from the shot. i got one this year and for the first time had zero side effects. i did ask beforehand if it had eggs in it (the last time i had a flu shot with eggs in, my arm swelled up to three times its size for a week and i couldn't breathe for 2 days). if yours did have eggs, it would be helpful to find out and not get those any more. fingers crossed it's that simple, though hey, you might've thought of this already.😀

it's wonderful to have kind family around, especially the addition of your nephew! happy belated birthday!

and while it may be frustrating, all these afo fittings, at least they're thorough.

thanks for the birthday wishes. I am sorry that you had trouble with the shot and your arm swelling up.

I always struggle mentally with the vaccines because they have egg in them. I am a pescatarian borderline vegan. I tend to try to rationalize that it’s only once a year and would I rather deal with the guilt of dealing with eggs or be sick in bed or worse yet the hospital with the flu. This should be one of the toughest things to have to choose from in life. if it were I think we would be so much more at peace.😳😳

Hopefully, the AFO situation is solved. Yay! My Brace Guy came to the house with the brace and so far so good. No major issues. Finally!

Well, it can’t hurt! Lol. I’ve been wearing one since I think 2006 . So far so good. No issues with fit. I think the adjustments and fine tweaking worked.

I had said in a previous post that I would post a photo, but I’m having issues with my phone. If/when I get that straightened out; I’ll post it. The butterfly pattern is not exactly what I hoped for, but it could’ve been worse.
