Flu Jab
Hi. Just wondering if anyone has been refused a flu jab this year despite always having one previously? My daughter has asthma and had heart surgery as a baby. She recently moved to Hampshire but previously lived in Wales, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. All previous doctors have given her a flu

Flu jab with hashimotos
So I took my time this year trying to decide if to have the flu jab as it's recommended for asthma but not so much for hashimotos. I had it yesterday and have been very ill since, extreme vertigo, sore throat, lumps in mouth and what I can only describe as a hot tingling through my body. Has anyone else

Prognosis MPA Vasculitis
Hi. I am new here. I was diagnosed in June 2017. I was wondering what is the life expectancy for MPA ( microscopic polyangitis). I keep seeing references to 2 years and 5 years. Is that all that is expected ? Also since my flu jab last week I have been extremely tired and unable to use my excercise bike

Flu jab & PAF
I was diagnosed with PAF 16 years ago, but with a cocktail of drugs including Warfarin and arrhythmia drugs have been in rhythm for the past 10 years until I received my first flu injection yesterday and ten hours later I was in AF, which I still am. Told by medical staff it might go back into rhythm

More about the shingles vaccine and its downsides
I have posted before about the shingles vaccine listing PMR as a possible adverse event. https://healthunlocked.com/pmrgcauk/posts/134436076/the-shingles-vaccine-debate-and-pmr Today I found this gem to add to it: http://info.cmsri.org/the-driven-researcher-blog/merck-admits-shingles-vaccine-can-cause-eye-damage-and-shingles

Exposure to shingles.
My daughter, age 43, has been diagnosed with presumptive case of shingles. She's being treated with an antiviral. I had chicken pic, herpes zoster oticus ( same as daughter, coincidence?) And I have had the shingles vaccine? Should I stay away from her and if so for how long? Btw, the other potential

New here, but not new to AF and ectopic beats.
Hi folks, I’m new here, but am not new to AF. My AF began, I believe, when I was diagnosed with Graves’ Disease (hyperthyroidism) in 2004 treated with Atenolol (to bring the associated tachycardia under control) until the Carbimozole brought my thyroxine levels down. The Carbimozole dose was gradually

So fed up of feeling ill
Hi there, I had hepatitis about 20 years ago, was itchy and felt like flu whole time. By the time it was picked up it had cleared and I have been clear of the virus since. About 9 years ago I began to feel tired and overheated. To cut a long story short after blood tests they found nothing wrong and

Thanks to all
Thanks to all who responded to my last post. Have bought a nasal rinse and will give that a wazz. Also I think living in London doesn't help with all the pollution about. The link between diesel fumes and copd is in its infancy. Although the condition is slight with me, as the winter comes everyone make

Been pressured into having a flu injection as I am a Reg Nurse . Have been advised best not to have as have Graves’ disease and specialist told me with impaired immunity best not to introduce flu vaccine as it may have the opposite effect . Anyone out there had the flu vaccine?

Why the flu jab can't work as advertised
Apparently the way the flu vaccine is manufactured (in eggs) means that the virus mutates so it won't be the strain that was intended. So you are probably protected against something but no one knows exactly what - perhaps it even causes the mutations we are seeing - who knows? Perhaps the caterpillar-based

Flu jab or not?
Newly diagnosed as Hashimoto through a private blood test; told I was Hypothyroid prior to this. I am now due to have a flu jab, tomorrow at 10, so somewhat late for this (I forgot...). anyway...I have had the flu jab with no side affects over the past 10 or so years (classified as 'front line' worker

Here’s why the 2017 flu season was so bad in Australia
Australia has recorded 221,853 flu infections so far in 2017, more than any other year. This article analyses why the 2017 flu vaccine wasn't as effective as hoped, and how flu vaccines are formulated, including critically how long it takes (which makes forecasting which strains will be active and thus

Have been sick for the last few days
Not sure if I got a touch of the flu or some other crud that has been doing around but Wednesday I started throwing up it was still going on Thursday. Luckily I was able to get some anti-nausea meds and that stopped the throwing up. Yesterday I was finally to eat small meals and keep it down. My stomach
