Flu vaccine
Been pressured into having a flu injection as I am a Reg Nurse . Have been advised best not to have as have Graves’ disease and specialist told me with impaired immunity best not to introduce flu vaccine as it may have the opposite effect . Anyone out there had the flu vaccine?

Why the flu jab can't work as advertised
Apparently the way the flu vaccine is manufactured (in eggs) means that the virus mutates so it won't be the strain that was intended. So you are probably protected against something but no one knows exactly what - perhaps it even causes the mutations we are seeing - who knows? Perhaps the caterpillar-based

Flu jab or not?
Newly diagnosed as Hashimoto through a private blood test; told I was Hypothyroid prior to this. I am now due to have a flu jab, tomorrow at 10, so somewhat late for this (I forgot...). anyway...I have had the flu jab with no side affects over the past 10 or so years (classified as 'front line' worker

Here’s why the 2017 flu season was so bad in Australia
Australia has recorded 221,853 flu infections so far in 2017, more than any other year. This article analyses why the 2017 flu vaccine wasn't as effective as hoped, and how flu vaccines are formulated, including critically how long it takes (which makes forecasting which strains will be active and thus

Have been sick for the last few days
Not sure if I got a touch of the flu or some other crud that has been doing around but Wednesday I started throwing up it was still going on Thursday. Luckily I was able to get some anti-nausea meds and that stopped the throwing up. Yesterday I was finally to eat small meals and keep it down. My stomach

Prevenar 13 vaccination against pneumococcal infection.
Saw my doc in our little spanish village this week. Just for a check up and a quick hello as my normal doc is now on maternity leave. Nice guy who I think must have come out of retirement as he's way over qualified for a local GP (checked him out on good old Google!). He spoke fluent English and was

😷 Flu Shot
I had my 😷 shot a month ago, but before getting it I called my ms 👨🏼⚕️ and Aubagio nurse and was advised NOT to have the new shot for over 65. Both said that there was no info with it and people with ms. So just a note 📝 I had the regular ☝️

Breathlessness
Hi all I'm nearly three months post ablation and everything seems fine apart from the last couple of weeks I have become increasingly breathless, only when I excert myself or get overly excited I do suffer from slight angina but this is more of a dry burning pain where I seem I need to catch my breath

Flu jab and prednisolone?
Hi me again :) I read somewhere that you can’t have the flu jab while taking prednisolone? Is this correct? I’m on day 3 of a 7 day course and I’m booked in this morning for the jab x

Flu jab what a delight.
So I finally managed to get my flu jab yesterday, only appointment was with a new Dr who first asked why I needed it and then when I coughed said I shouldn’t have it. I explained that that is what I do, cough, and I do it well. She finally gave it to me and today I have an unusual cough. Almost a mix

Flu vaccine and disease progression
Yesterday I had my first flu vaccine in nearly a decade. Woot! Much better than keeping getting flu, and now I'm finally allowed again by the rheumatologists, who banned me from it, after it coincided with a disease flare one year (just pure coincidence I suspect). My husband always gets done as my carer

Starting NDT after failed T4, T4+T3, and T3 only experiments
After being messed around by a TSH blood test wielding junior endocrinologist for 12 months I found a very experienced, up-to-date and respected endo who agreed to treat me based on my symptoms (hooray!!) as long as I committed to adhering to a series of T4 / T3 experiments. Which I did, over a period

Still here....
My husband ,73, was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2015 and had tumour removed followed by one course of BCG. He reacted badly to BCG and hasn't had any more but has quarterly cystoscopy. Fortunately, he is well and has had no more tumours. He keeps disposable catheters for occasional use but is aware

Good afternoon - I was wondering what the general consensus is about this - never had it before - but am I more at risk after chemo this year ?

Relapse, and now I'm sure I'm a member of your elite club
Since I last posted, I've been undergoing more tests because even my new rheumatologist suspected I have something other than GCA/PMR. Tapered Prednisolone from 40mg to 35mg with no problem, both ESR and CRP returned to normal pretty quickly and the doctors didn't seem concerned that most of the symptoms

Flu Shot
I think some of have gotten your shot. I’m about to. I did look on CDC regarding mercury. Only in multi dose vials, to minimize contamination. So I’m good. No worries 😊

Urgent Low T3 at 2. but heartbeat 120 bpm in hospital
This is really urgent please. My 93 year old Mum had a flu jab about 5 days ago. All ok before then. She got a UTI 2 days ago and then had a fall. Waited 4 hours on the floor for an ambulance. Leg bandaged and put into bed. She had another fall and was admitted to hospital yesterday. Today I have
