CT scan next Monday
Following on from having a chest x-ray last week I'm booked in for a CT scan of my chest and abdomen which includes me being injected with contrast dye. I have received a letter from the hospital explaining the procedure and also mentioning that two hours before hand I should drink a litre of water.

Heart Attack!
Hi. Haven’t been on much recently, but lots been happening. My BP has been playing up for around four to five weeks and I hadn’t been feeling quite “right”. I advised Gp who ordered a Holter Monitor and Chest x Ray because I’ve had irregular heartbeats too. Unfortunately events overtook is last Sunday

Feeling breathless
I had a chest X-ray and a stress test not very long ago so I am feeling like this is from tapering. I guess I just need some reassurance. I tapered from 7mg to 6mg a little over a week ago. At first everything was so good it surprised me. The last several days, however, I get these times, sometimes toward

April, at least here in the South East of England, has continued the long, dark, wet winter. Even Scotland is doing better than us! The good news is that our website (www.ghic.world) is now fully up and running.

Sudden onset of tight chest
Hi All, I've had asthma since birth and it's been manageable, the symptoms have also improved over the years (now 43yrs old) and I only needed to use my reliever every few days. A couple months ago my chest became tight almost overnight to the point where I need to use my reliever 4-8 times a day.

My first post and need advice please
Hi all, I really need to know if I have COPD? Before Christmas I had flu like symptoms and went to my GP who gave me antibiotics. Finished the course but the cough just went on and on and I finally went back and saw a locum doctor that I'd not seen before. Told him about my cough and the fact that

Bad reaction to antibiotics
HI everyone. Comments please. After having a tummy bug I was bitten in bed! And the next day my joint in my right foot looked like Mount Etna. Inflamed with what looked like an ulcer and very painful. Couldn't get my shoe on. Went to surgery and was given antibiotics. - Amoxycilin is the only drug

Pet Worries
I thought I would post an update. I had an indwelling Pleural catheter about 4 weeks ago and the district nurses having been coming out most days to drain me. It has been hard getting the balance right between frequency of visits and volume. At first it seemed that as fast as the nurses were draining
