So tonight I was doing fine until around about 6:00 , I took my medicine and next thing you know I started feeling weird and couldn't breathe, was getting hot and weak and dizzy so I told my parents to rush me to the hospital, I began to panic even more, started crying. I get to the hospital, they

HCC/Liver ablation.
Since being home from RFA treatment for a liver tumour in Nov, 2016, Mike has been ill with a chest infection. He now has breathlessness from little exertion. Had a chest x-ray and it came back clear, waiting to have a spirometer test now. The symptoms Mike had before the ablation treatment are still

Hospital update
Saw arrythmia nurse yesterday also had ecg , chest x ray and an echo. Top 2 chambers of heart are a little enlarged but other than that all ok. Opinion is that chest pain etc is from heart still being inflamed and irritated from the ablation and may not settle down until the six week mark. He said

Hi. I was only diagnosed with asthma last march so this is all a bit new to me. It's been a difficult task getting it under control but the current mix of inhaler's and medication seems to be working. My problem is that for the last 4 days I have been coughing up blood and had a high fever. My GP diagnosed

Chronic dry cough
I have had a persistent dry cough since June 2016 after a cold which lasted about a month. It is worse when out in the cold air and when I try to speak will often come on and prevent me talking. A chest x ray was clear and a breathing test was normal. One Doctor said it could be acid reflux related

Hi all. So my mum had a pet scan 3 weeks ago to investigate a mass in her upper right lung. She spoke to her consultant on the phone today and he explained that the scan showed the active area in the right side as expected but there is also a very small active area in her left lung (which didn't show

Would a lung cancer cough get better?
Hi, I've had a cough for roughly 5 months, i smokes and I'm 51. Ive had a chest x ray which was clear, and now had a CT scan last Friday, we have an appointment with a lung specialist tomorrow. Unsure if the results of the CT will be ready as the appointment was made the same day as the CT. My question

Heavy Wheezing and potential Lung Infection - help?
Hi, I'm Jake - and yes, I'm new here! Since the first week of October I began to develop a cough/cold where I'd be coughing up yellow mucus, and blowing it out of my nose. After a few weeks, the colour went and the mucus I was blowing out of my nose was see-through. This turned into a mild "cough",

How long did LC diagnosis take?
Hi everyone I've posted on here a few times now and I have found everyone to be so kind and helpful. My mum had early stage breast cancer in her left breast 5 years ago, this was treated with surgery, radiation, chemo and hormone therapy and she had no further problems (fingers crossed) in November

How do I cure ongoing chest infections?
Hi there, I have had asthma since I was three years old and my biggest problem is chest infections. These happen in winter mainly, seasonally, and I'd say on a bad year I can have up to 5 or 6 chest infections/upper respiratory infections a year, though these have worsened in recent years. It normally

CT Scan result time?
Hi All, My mum is having a CT scan today to find out what is causing her change in cough for the last 4-5 months. She's a smoker. Giving up in the new year thank god. Her chest x-ray was clear, and so terrified there find something sinister on the CT scan :( How long is the wait for the results roughly

Test Results Waiting time?
Hi Everyone, I'm just wondering how long I should expect to wait to get back results for blood tests and a chest X-ray? I know that some tests take longer than others so I've listed below which ones I've had recently. - Anti-nuclear Factor - Anti-CCP Antibody Level - DNA binding auto-antibodies - Extractable

My husband has emphysema and doesn't cough or seem to have much mucus. Does massaging the back help break it up?
My husband has had a flare since October. He has almost no coughing and never has coughed up mucus. He has emphysema . He's been on steroids almost nonstop since this started. And antibiotics off and on. We thought he was a getting a little better. But his oxygen level last night was 69 when he got into

What to expect?
Hi all, My mum has had a cough for 4-5 months, sometimes productive, sometimes not. Normally the colour is white, but it is occasionally green. She had a chest x-ray and this has come back clear, she also had spirometerty test, which come back ok, not amazing. She got 66% and the 'OK' is 70% apparently
