Blood result anxiety
What if her
haemoglobin
or platelet count has dropped and it’s progressed to richter’s. My mum is very calm about all this, very circumspect feeling that she can’t change the outcome and again, it might be nothing or even urate level related.

MDS/MPN overlap syndrome I was diagnosed in March 2019 and am currently on EPO weekly injections to improve my
Haemoglobin
. I take Asprin to help with my high platelets. On the whole I am active and manage to do my daily housework and am doing my office work from home.

A little help...
Doctor said after I’ve finished the iron tablets to go back for another blood test and they’ll look into my
haemoglobin
I think he said? Could I have PA? Any replies are are appreciated! I’ve never gone into any depth with anyone about this as I just did what I was told by the midwife!

Ferritin Level
She checked letter from haematoligist and
haemoglobin
in range but Ferritin level is apparently 4. Does anyone with PV know what their Ferritin level is for comparison. Apparently normal range is 15 to 250 for men and slightly lower in women.

The next day, my bone marrow crashed dramatically- platelets fell from 500 to 39,
Haemoglobin
dropped to 66 (should be over 100), neutrophils dropped to .6 (should be at least 1.1). All my electrolytes were severely below normal, from Magnesium to phosphorus to potassium.

Can anyone help me with levels results please until I can see the Consultant.
Haemoglobin
137 White cell count 12.1 Platelets 669 Neutrophils 8.3 GFR 85 I don’t know what “normal” levels are so am struggling to get a baseline in my own head. If this makes sense. I’m currently on 75mg aspirin once a day.

First post from a newbie awaiting JAK2 result
He said he had phoned haematology at the general hospital as my
haemoglobin
,haematocrit and red cell count were all above high ref range.Haematologist told him with those results alone he would diagnose Polycythemia and that I needed a JAK2 test which I had done the next day.

Coping after 2weeks loading injections
Your
haemoglobin
is normal meaning you are not anaemic and your B12 level is only borderline. Therefore continued loading doses not recommended in your case’. I expect many of you have had similar replies from your GP. I am now confused.

Normal TSH & T4?
I also have a vit b12 deficiency treated with injections and my blood test showed a high
haemoglobin
estimation. Not sure if that’s relevant? My sister has a b12 deficiency and under active thyroid too. Thank you
