STEROID INDUCED TYPE 2

Hello , this is my first post 😊 I am 72 years old and weigh 10st. 2lb.

Nine months ago I was diagnosed with PMR and started on 15mg Prednisolone daily ...

Six months later I was diagnosed with "borderline steroid induced type 2 diabetes" and now take 500mg Metformin daily.

Recent checks show my blood sugar levels are "coming down nicely" according to my GP nurse.

I wonder could anyone tell me how I can make changes to live with this condition, precautions to take and maybe diet tips ? Thank you x

Welcome to the group. Please feel free to read, reply to other member's postings, post your own postings and questions.

Please check out the Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation's website. Go to: drwf.org.uk/diabetes-leaflets and click on the A Healthy Diet and Diabetes. You can also click on the Exercise and Diabetes. You can download or listen to both items.

Hope this helps.

Hi ragivaro

PMR is Polimyalgia RHEUMATICA a condition affecting the immune system and the only medication which will control its side effects are steroids .
