Blood test results (probably Hashimoto’s)
Hi all, I have suspected Hashimoto’s and a referral for an endocrinologist. But I want to go there informed, so I ask for any insights. Sorry in advance for the ramble - I’m noting down anything that may be of relevance!... there are some test results at the bottom. I have always struggled to keep weight

Health care professionals in training on low carb!!!
A short online course is helping healthcare professionals improve their understanding of T2D significantly - a 36% increase in knowledge has been reported. https://www.lowcarbprogram.com/placed-type-2-diabetes-remission/?rid=17&srid=1280 Very interesting reading. LCHF Evening meal
Home made pork scratching with salad. There's half an avocado in there somewhere. I can honestly say that my wife makes the best pork scratching in the world. And salad.

Link to a recipe tip for a PMR Friendly Diet Snack for when the Pred Hunger bites , tried and tested and suprisingly tasty!
Hope you are all enjoying a good Bank Holiday weekend folks. We talk alot about the " Pred Hunger" , for most an almost inevitable side effect of being on steroids and how it effects our blood sugar levels. We want a snack but need to stay away from carbs that make the hunger worse , and gluten that

Beans!
Since runner beans were mentioned somewhere, I figured it's time for a post on beans. They're not exactly low-carb, but they're low-ish, and they're a good source of protein and fat for vegetarian LCHFers. They're also incredibly versatile and have a surprising range of different flavours. As proof

Making mistakes already early days .. sweet potatoes
I thought sweet potatoes were not a carb. . As I remember at slimming world they said you could have more than a third on your plate .. now I’m looking online as I’m on a low carb diet and it turns out they are 😩 Soo I guess I need to get some suede and cauliflower butternut squash to replace the carbs

Comfort food ... and diabetes
Just in case anyone missed it, Kes8 posted a link to this website: https://thelowcarbkitchen.co.uk/ Which has some really good ideas on it for those of you who miss your carbs! Apart from that, the author's story is well worth reading. She states that she's T1D, but the course of her illness sounds

Hashimotos and gluten/soy free diet
I have started a

and soy
free
diet
(also making sure I’m conscious about eating undercooked cruciferous vegetables, peanuts etc) but I’m really struggling to think of different recipe ideas! Also, I don’t know what sort of things I should have in the cupboard as alternatives.

New here. After 10 years of CLL, Ibrutinib treatment needed for decreasing hemoglobin and platelets.
I have avoided any treatment so far but extreme fatigue fluctuations have drastically restricted daily activity such as walking, cooking, gardening etc. It's been a gradual progression and now I want some energy back so I can stay independent. Last summer I also acquired a severe allergic reaction to

Steady decline in GFR
For the last 5 years I have eaten a mostly whole food, vegan,
gluten
free
diet
for other health reasons. I excercise regularly also. In your very knowledgable experiences, has this happened to anyone? Does it slow down or is going to keep on heading south.

ADT and daily carb intake for weight training
Because of ADT I have been on a strict diet. I do not consume any flour, or sugar. Of course, I have noticed a melting or flattening out of gains, but when I work out, I get inspired by the pump I get. I do take supplements that work for me. Creatine, L Citruline, Aminos, and Whey. Being just a month

Cheese Guilt...
Just started this way of eating, hoping it will help curb my cravings and carb/sugar dependence! Just wondering though, do people find they just ended up binging out on cheese, especially during the induction phase? I just ate about 600 calories worth of cheese in one go. It is kind of hilarious but

Prednisone and metabolism
I have tried researching what Pred. does to the metabolism but can't find any info. I was on high protein low carb liquid diet for about 1 week. Lost 10 lbs which I know was water weight. I developed really bad edema since taking pred. The next two weeks I added 1 meal a day to the two shakes. Lost 6

Advice needed
I did run 2 of week 6 today but failed to run for the whole 10 minutes in the second half, I ran for 8. I’m feeling particularly tired today as on a low carb low sugar diet. I know I can do it as I ran for 20 minutes straight last week in run 3. Should I do run 2 again or just go into run 3 like normal

Hungry?
A rash of posts from members having an attack of the munchies reminded me that I was going to post links to Hidden's "everyday eating on LCHF" reports. Apart from being ridiculously tasty-looking, Beee's meals are 100% healthy weight-loss food. Should any of you be feeling somewhat deprived as you

Low carb lunch options?
Rightly or wrongly I usually get my lunch from Boots and try to take advantage of their meal deal. Sometimes Tesco too. Does anyone have suggestions for low carb options from either? I could prep food at home to bring with me but to be honest, chances are I won't do it. So I'm wondering what low
