Still walking and now doing The Fast 800
Hello from locked down France. Just wanted to update you and say I am still walking. I realised today that I am building new neural pathways to overwrite the old I can't walk very far messages. We started out this morning and I felt I'd probably manage just a short walk. By the time we got back I'd

Soul food: chicken and waffles
I gather this is a classic American southern/soul food dish. I have never had it, but enjoyed a keto version this evening. It was delicious. The elements were a sweet syrup made with erythritol (an ingredient I tried for the first time today), chicken "breaded" in pork scratchings, and keto waffles,

Hba1c now 43 - Prediabetic?
When I was really ill I lost 3 stone in weight in a few months as I was unable to eat or even drink a cup of tea. This was the only upside as I had tried to lose weight in the past with only moderate success. When I first started being able to eat again my taste buds had totally changed and I craved

Advice for T2D
Some follow lchf some hclf and some wfpb? With which diet can someone reverse and still enjoy all foods in moderation? Not bad eating habits but in moderation and in a sustainable form.

OMAD or IF
After some advice, I have been following LCHF and doing OMAD Mon-Fri and IF at the weekend, although sometimes I still do OMAD, if I'm really busy. I am now finding that Mon morning my weight is up by 3-4 lbs, it does go down again by the weekend. This has now happened the last 3 weeks and I am not sure

LCHF ADVICE
Hi, I’m currently vegan but i’m thinking of doing a LCHF vegan diet as i eat around 150 grams of carbs a day. I’ve noticed that carbs just make me feel bloated and not great. On LCHF how many grams of carbs a day is acceptable? 20? 30? I’d find it difficult to do any lower than 30 due to my love of fruit

Well, that escalated quickly...
Hey everyone. I joined here a few weeks ago having been diagnosed with angina. I have obviously had cardiac problems building up over the years but I've been asymptomatic (as far as I am aware). Following a CT scan and an angiogram (both of which were great, the medics and staff all brilliant) I need

Coming off BP tablets
For the past 10 years or so, I have been prescribed various medications for hypertension, with varying degrees of success. Most recently I was taking 100mg Losartan and 2.5mg Indapamide. Just over two years ago, I felt a large mass in my abdomen, which was found to be a simple large renal cyst. Last

Admins and Lchf
I find it a bit concerning personally that Admins are suggesting LCHF in their welcome posts to new members - perhaps as admistrators of the forum you should let people make their own mind up, so as to avoid forcing one diet on any new person who arrives? That's not to say that any member who has found

Tight foreskin in older men - Phimosis
I am confronted with a tight foreskin that start to bother me about 3-4 months ago. I always had a sensitive foreskin and sometimes I am getting fungal infection that usually goes away with antifungal cream (clotrimazole) or coconut oil. In fact in latest years I completely replace antifungal cream

In focus: diet - sugar and carbohydrates
Hello This month in our ‘Health in Focus’ posts, we’re looking at diet. Often, people diagnosed with cancer make changes to their diet because they want to support their health. In these posts, we’ll look at some of the types of food that we are asked about on the support service, whether to eliminate

Cravings etc
I notice a few of you doing Lytham's Challenge are reporting "carb cravings" and/or some trepidation about keeping this going. I can completely understand this. Once you get into LCHF, you realise that the British food landscape is awash with carbs (and low-fat food). Supermarkets, restaurants, everywhere

Low carb quiche & salad
Here is a photo of tonight’s tea: The quiche is low carb/ healthy fats as the base is made from almond flour. Mix one large egg with two cups of almond flour (or ground almonds) and a pinch of salt. Roll it out and bake blind for 15-20mins (I put ceramic cooking beans on it to stop it bubbling up).
