Still walking and now doing The Fast 800

Hello from locked down France.

Just wanted to update you and say I am still walking. I realised today that I am building new neural pathways to overwrite the old I can't walk very far messages.

We started out this morning and I felt I'd probably manage just a short walk.

By the time we got back I'd done 5000 steps and it was still only midday.

My final steps this evening were just over 7500, I am so happy.

We've gone Low Carb officially ('bout time I hear some of you say).

Following the Michael Mosley Fast 800 regime which is a 12 week eating plan.

We've been Intermittent Fasting (16:8) since around the time I got PMR, so we're still doing that. We eat the meals the wrong way round (according to the meal plans). Our 1st meal of the day is at Midday and is the Dinner/Main meal.

Late afternoon we have one of the breakfast recipes, and our evening meal is the lunch meal. We have both lost 4kg.

When I first went back to walking I decided to take a stick and plant it each time so I could see my progress. The stick has been moved several times , probably 1/2km from where it was initially planted. The photo is me pointing at the stick on today's walk. I really didn't think I could get that far today and I moved the stick just 10 metres further.

Each time we leave the house now we have to have a newly dated, timed and sign declaration. As you can imagine, we were overwhelmed by Gendarmes up here in the fields.....but, you never know.

Keep safe everyone, there's still a rough ride ahead.

Brilliant!

Here I understood the instructions to mean we had to carry the form with us for a policeperson to complete if they stopped up - but it was only outside our own community boundaries. So you needed a version for whatever you were doing but not necessarily dated so it was reusable. After all - what do people without a printer do? At present it is only for the curfew - 11pm to 5am. No doubt it will change again ...

I've had to order more printer ink!

W have to complete one for each trip. Just now we've been to collect the shopping with an Attestation signed and dated by us. I have just Tippexed out the time and date and will reuse it later for our walk. (I am feeling it today after yesterday!)

There is a mobile app which I am unable to use as my phone has reduced Bluetooth capacity (apparently). Shame, as that would save paper and ink.

We saw no Gendarmes on our shopping trip (and this confinement seems to allow 2 people per car which is pleasing). Maybe Gendarmes are now heavily taken up with the terrorist threat after the killings in Nice :(

Have a good All Hallows and enjoy Day of the Dead tomorrow safely :D xx

James had to have a Completed Form & l think Certification from AirBus to drive to Work & a Form form for Walking the Dog 🐶 even though that’s fairly apparent what he’s doing.....

Haven't got a phone ... Well, not of the required variety!

Same here, I get so annoyed when people are told to download the app!....what if you don`t have that sort of phone, and as you say, what if you don`t have a printer!

Waiting for the 5 O`clock announcement from Boris for the latest details on shutdown....oh joy....

Hope he gets it right - our local Leader announced (twice, once in German, once in Italian) that ALL shops were to be closed ALL weekend! Which I heard about Friday afternoon having done shopping for the day - but hadn't got milk. Luckily, it was noted and corrected - closed Sunday. Like the first time round. That's OK. But they've closed bar service at weekends except with meals - so at 11.30am we could order a pizza and 2 aperols and sit and eat/drink but can't order 2 aperols alone!! Slight lack of logic there.

Don't think there is logic in any country right now, a lady said this morning on TV, how come hairdressers are open but not nailbars....not that I use the latter........think they are worried about xmas, lots of people will no doubt ignore the rules....

Expect they are all out buying toilet rolls!!

Great to see blue skies where you are, its raining heavily, strong winds and very dark here but Ive still walked the dog even though he wasn't that impressed getting wet! Brilliant idea with the stick to mark how far you have walked. Good luck with low carb I have just started doing it and so far so good.

Lovely place to walk! I was riding my bike and shuffle/jogging/walking daily until the last few days when it got rainy and quite cold here in Michigan (snow today!) Now I have to figure out how to exercise daily without going outdoors every day (depending on the weather). We just shut down our local schools for a week here in Oakland County, but it may last longer as our country is seeing rising numbers now. Part of the problem is people not masking or social distancing. After our election, we'll see if that changes. I wanted to go back to the gym (yes they are open) but I'm not feeling too safe there as the powerlifters refuse to mask. Sheesh. Keep at it and good for you!

Update:

I have lost a cat. 11lbs is the equivalent of a domestic cat :D

Yesterday I walked 8300 steps, my personal best.

Today I have not walked outdoors apart from putting chickens to bed.

Still enjoying the Fast 800, now over halfway through Week 3.

Thank you.

Now lost 7.8 kg. Walking 5 out of 7 days and averaging 7000 steps per day.

Lost 5" from my waist.

Went to Dr for eye (again) the other day and shocked him when I asked to stand on the scales. I normally tell him okay but don't look.

He was pleased.
