There is a lot of publicity being given to the wonders of porridge at present.
It can 'cure' high blood pressure, can lower high cholesterol and even lower blood glucose, though how it does that is rather a mystery because it is still starchy carbohydrate which is not good for diabetics. My question is this: why does Scotland have the highest rate of heart disease in the UK

A bit exasperated...advice please?
Hi all, I wonder if I could maybe just vent a little and also maybe get some advice for which direction to go next. I feel like I have been round the houses, as I'm sure many of you have also felt. Having paid to see a private thyroid doctor, who then referred me to an endocrinologist - who both said

Milk
I tried to post this once, but could not find it anywhere. Can anyone explain whether milk is good or bad for diabetics? http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/74/1/96.full#fn-group-1 What does the above research indicate? Eating salads with vinegar based salad dressings along with meals would definitely

Recall empirical effect of Pizza on blood glucose level?
I vividly remember that one of the top active and learned member gave personal account of one observation where he monitored blood glucose levels after taking a hefty load of extra topped pizza slices. Contrary to hype, rise was slow and peak reached after three or four hours. I would like to revisit

Confused about being hypothyroid or not!
I've just had most disappointing and confusing appt with endo! I was still complaining of hypo symptoms on 50mcg of levo. Then developed tachycardia, palpitations and itch. TSH (1.94) and T4 (12.3) within normal range. Stopped levo which settled tachycardia and itch. Endo now says I don't have hypothyroidism
