Leave Your Coffee Until After Breakfast
Some recent research suggests that having coffee on waking impairs your metabolism and blood glucose control: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/coffee-breakfast-metabolism-blood-sugar-control-bath-study-b744635.html Personally I tend to have tea first thing (usually pint mug) and with breakfast

Reducing blood glucose very quickly? Life style change and diet. LCHF, DIP,VIP and many more diet gives information.
It appears that reducing blood glucose level very quickly can cause kidney problems!! an article in diabetes.co.uk discuss this. We do not want to go from one problem to another problem, do we?

Started the steroids again after all
Spoke to my GP the other day and asked about starting the steroids & he said take them...lol, was probably because I could hardly talk 😂 I think I knew really because I was struggling for the week beforehand & my PF was starting to drop a bit ...although it doesn’t drop dramatically (as in I can’t follow

Inflammation in the Liver Reversed by Metformin
Metformin is the First line drug for Type 2 Diabetes. It is in use for the last more than 50 years and there is hardly any adverse side effects if taken in recommended dosage. While a lot of research is still on to find out the exact mechanism of working , in the process science keeps finding out many

More good news in research: Clinical trials show dramatic results for Farxiga® in treating CKD
The article below from the American Kidney Fund was received today and I thought it was a good idea to share the information with everyone here. It's still a way off but the news is encouraging. Unusual post
Awake as always after yet another night with partial sleep. 2 x 2 hour sessions though is better than nothing though and whilst Zopiclone does provide relief, I prefer the natural stuff best. I am very cautious about all things medical and always have and always will err towards those medically trained

Does heat increase blood glucose levels?
This is my first summer since being diagnosed. Since diagnosis I have been on low carb and have lost a lot of weight. As a result most days my readings are in the region of 5.5. Today I have eaten the same food as in previous months but my bg has gone up to 9.1. I have been drinking a lot of water

Newbie post - unexplained prediabetes.
For over two years I have had prediabetic HbA1c test results, creeping upwards from 43mmol/mol in a routine test in May 2018 to 47 at the last test (just before lockdown in March). 48 will indicate diabetes. After the first test result I bought a blood glucose monitor and, whilst, thoroughly researching

T3 / weight gain
Hi everyone I currently take T3 75mcg in one single dose. I have under active thyroid / hashimotos. My biggest symptom is weight gain. I have put quite a bit of weight on this last year which has caused me to become type 2 diabetic again. I have had some bloods taken & got the results. Please note

"All is normal", so they say in the medical profession....
Hi everyone on this site, I'd like to introduce myself and ask for your opinion. I'v had Type1 Diabetes over 40 years now and Graves diagnosis in 2006 (in remission after 18 months treatment with Carbimazole), so I was told that I must have predisposition to other autoimmune conditions and I should look

Diabetes testing.
What do you mean by : my blood glucose test was 51 ? Mine is 7.2 and my GP is perfectly happy with that. Anything around 7 is okay by him. Just wondering what country you're living in. It might be the reason for such a huge discrepancy. Chris G
