Leave Your Coffee Until After Breakfast

Some recent research suggests that having coffee on waking impairs your metabolism and blood glucose control:

Personally I tend to have tea first thing (usually pint mug) and with breakfast. I have coffee around 10:30 and from then on... ☕ 🍵 😄

And is that morning tea decaff?

Despite the research, I'm sticking with my morning Strong English Breakfast pot - fully caffeinated and I couldn't get through the morning without it stewed to builder strength, lol!

I shouldn’t but have a latte 🤭

For the last 17 years I’ve had warm water with lemon slices first thing then coffee/tea/breakfast around 30 mins later. They now say it has health benefits but tbh I just found it refreshing.

I love my coffee/tea even though it’s decaf just now.

Oh No!! I've stopped the cooked breakfast completely, and now the spotlight has been firmly fixed on my coffee! ☕☕ 😱

Why not a lighter cooked breakfast like scrambled egg with smoked salmon or Eggs Benedict with low fat Hollandaise sauce?

Not allowed smoked salmon or benedict sauce, or any shell fish, post transplant orders, pate, soft cheese like brie also forbidden, all my so called healthy favs, Xmas won't be the same, so it will have to be full Scottish 😋

I’ve been doing mug scrambled eggs/omelettes, brill idea. You can chop a tomato and/or cheese, quick n easy

Hot Ribena first. Then later jumbo porridge oats, 50/50 milk and water, yum.....with golden syrup though, I'm afraid. 🙀

David Icke has spent years giving speeches and the only people to turn up were the village idiot and the odd alcoholic, now we had 1000s in London the other week listening to him - the world's gone mad!

A 'study' of 29 people after broken sleep and drinking coffee? No mention of things like the rest of their diet, alcohol, smoking, exercise etc. Maybe there is more information in the actual research data. Newspapers tend to pick out the bits which will help sell the paper.

Thank you. Looked at one of the links on this and the 29 participants were healthy with a mean age of 21. No mention of their general lifestyle. If you then look at the references they are mainly to do with sleep. I'm a bad sleeper and drink water on waking, not coffee. I really get fed up with newspaper headlines just picking out the bits they want but then I suppose they have to sell copies. Trouble is some people just look at the headlines and believe them. Don't know what can be done about that unfortunately.

I must admit that coffee is one of my vices, I only have one a day sometimes 2 don’t have sugar in it but really look forward to having it. Don’t drink or smoke do coffee is my thing, I do have decay about 50% of the time, I do try 🥴🥴

Couldn’t drink coffee first thing in morning, my first drink is water to take a tablet 1/2 hr before breakfast then it’s orange juice and tea with my breakfast. Only drink Coffee mid morning and mid afternoon

Oo-er coffee. Personally I can't think of a worse smell in the morning, let alone the taste of it. I think I am quite safe from this potential issue. 😁

1st thing is a Coffee followed by 1 slice of Toast with Poached or Scrambled Egg followed by the 1st of my 5 a day Entresto, Aspirin, Statin. Bisoprolol and Omeprazole which I take with my 2nd cup of Coffee.

I take my Eplerenone and 2nd Entresto in the Afternoon again with a cup of Coffee this has been my routine for a while now with no adverse effect !! ( That I Know Of ) LOL. I am not advocating this just saying what I do.
