Glucose test 27 weeks pregnant.
I have a glucose test very soon and because of my anxiety I'm dreading it. I've had one before and it was all normal. I've used my mother's blood sugar test as she has diabetes (that's why I need the test) and my levels came back normal too. Question is; is it mandatory to have one? I suffer with anxiety

I did C25k two years ago and got to running 8-10 relatively regularly, including a gorgeous trot with @Oldfloss in Criccieth and a crazy parkrun on Pwhellii beach accompanied by the Cats and Kittens. My running frequency tailed right off after a particularly bad experience at a large race event that

Diabetic eye screening?
I learned something new today, it appears the eye react on a daily basis to high blood glucose daily levels for people with type 2. This can only be checked by eye photo. If any of you have high blood glucose level in the morning ,please have your eyes check, eye photo to check for blood in the eye

Statins
My GP wants me to start on statins based on an analysis of my cholesterol level and various other factors including postcode (not sure why this is a consideration as I live in a fairly ordinary surburban area). When I read up on statins I was rather put off when I read about the risk of type 2 diabetes

Blood results - no values given - advice please!
Hi All, so I've had my yearly blood test with full blood counts, fasting glucose, HBA1C and TSH. To get my results my GP practice doctor calls us and goes through the results; of which he only mentioned TSH, not all results so I had to ask for the fasting glucose and HBA1C. He seemed reluctant to discuss

Statins and Type 2 Diabetes
Not strictly speaking an MPN question but I’d be interested to know if anyone has had a similar experience of statins and insulin resistance as a possible side effect. When I was first diagnosed with ET 17 years ago my GP put me on Simvastatin to reduce my cholesterol, which was only slightly high, and

Hypoglycemia/low blood sugar
Hello all, I wonder if anyone would be so kind as to give some advice about this issue. Recently, I have been struggling with my blood sugar. I wake up feeling ravenous, and sometimes I wake up with a headache/migraine/visual disturbance. It tends to get better after eating something. I've noticed

Does NDT affect blood sugar level?
I bought a blood glucose monitor a few weeks ago and have been checking my blood sugar level throughout the day. I take my meds at night (175mcg T4 & 0.75 Grains Erfa) and first thing in the morning my blood sugar is 3.6 - 3.8mmol/l. I also tried taking my Levo at night and NDT first thing in morning

Hello beautiful ladies I just want to hear your opinions. Yesterday we went for my 2nd growth scan at 34 weeks. The sonographer did the measurements and said baby is still measuring big weighing 5lb and 11oz. I have done glucose test twice at 27 weeks and 32 weeks both came negative. I don’t have too

How can type 2 diabetes be cured?
I found this article and thought it would be useful tips for all of us. Anyone taking Eliquis had their glucose levels get higher? Mine has gone up since taking this. Never never ever have I had my glucose over 100. Normal is between 70-100 for non-diabetics. My level has always been very good. In the 70's. Last labs I had before starting Eliquis it was 79. Very good. In

In focus: diet - sugar and carbohydrates
Hello This month in our ‘Health in Focus’ posts, we’re looking at diet. Often, people diagnosed with cancer make changes to their diet because they want to support their health. In these posts, we’ll look at some of the types of food that we are asked about on the support service, whether to eliminate
