Started the steroids again after all

Spoke to my GP the other day and asked about starting the steroids & he said take them...lol, was probably because I could hardly talk 😂 I think I knew really because I was struggling for the week beforehand & my PF was starting to drop a bit ...although it doesn’t drop dramatically (as in I can’t follow the 50% and start steroids rule as I’d be in hospital at 60-70%)

He’s given me more to replace those. Now just waiting for the blood glucose to go crazy for the week!

Thanks for those of you who replied to my question about when to start taking steroids! It helped me...even just to ask the GP!

Dee x

Hi Dee. I hope you feel much better very soon, and ride out the blood glucose surge.

All the best.

Thank you Poohbah 😊

I’ll just have to take more insulin.

Hope you’re doing ok too?!

Feel better soon, and I hope it doesn't mess up your blood sugars too badly.

Good, I’m glad you’re experienced enough to know how to handle it. I haven’t been on pred since childhood and I have long forgotten how it made me feel.

I can’t remember who was having trouble with a sick note, but it wasn’t me. I’m the 6-months post-viral one who seems to have been transferred from my GPs’ surgery to my pharmacist. Recently started Fostair and getting on OK with it other than the odd trigger. 👍🏻

Thank you for asking!🥰

Aww glad that you got your note & your appointment!!! And it’s not too long off either hey!! 👏

Thanks too...yes they totally mess with my blood glucose levels! But I think I’m gradually working it out with the help of my diabetes consultant! She’s amazing...bless her!

Take care hun!

Glad I'm not only one with head like a sieve 😂🤣. I honestly blame it on all the meds rattling around and lack of sleep! Haha. Hope your feeling better soon an no hypos after your highs. Vicious circle isn't it. I had G.D in 2018 so understand to some degree constant monitoring of B.M's changing diet/meds accordingly. Mine was only 9 months I salute you. X

Oh god is that your long acting one or nova rapid you just had to take? I'm so so lucky it was just pregnancy I have to be checked yearly for t1 as higher risk. Dr bit concerned I may have steroid induced diabetes gotta have skin swabs in week check is just pred acne as weird sores. Steroids an asthma have a lot to answer for!!!

It’s a rapid one! It’s always crazy on pred!

That interesting about your skin...I have had an angry face rash...on my chin& around my nose, and have just got steroid cream for it. It’s got lots better in 4 days of cream. But I also get manky pred acne! 😢
