Hello - I hope someone here can give me some information as I seem bereft of it at present. I am new hear so please bear with me. Four weeks ago today (4th June) I had a heart attack. I was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital where I spent four days. An angiogram revealed that I need a triple bypass

Post Bypass Cholesterol check
I have been on 20mg of statins since about a month before my CABG in March. The cardiac rehab nurse suggested that I should be on a higher dose, such as 80mg. She wanted to be sure and I had a fasting blood test a week ago. My cholestorol is now down from 6.7 to 3.4 and at an acceptable level. I

Shoulder pain after heart bypass
I am 10 weeks post op for a triple bypass and have been experiencing pain and a burning sensation at the top of my shoulders for just over a week. My rehab nurse says its probably posture but I am not so sure as it has only just started. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance and also

Mistake in my notes
I now have jsut discovered that in the comments part of my report it says cabg x4 which mean quadrouple bypass this is a complete nonsense unless you can do a quadrouple bypass when inserting a pacemaker in my shoulder. the only other surgery is a gall bladder removal

First 10K race
Today I’m running in the Liverpool Spring 10K. I entered last year and it seemed a great idea at the time. Many things have happened between then and now. Illness, the weather and recently my Mum had a heart attack and had a triple heart bypass. Training has taken a back seat for the past few months

Looking a second coronary bypass surgery
Nuclear stress test results revealed that the arterial grafts I had implanted in my first coronary artery bypass surgery are failing and the odds are that I will need to undergo open heart surgery again. Having had my cognitive capabilities sliced to ribbons by ICU delirium both before and after my first

Waiting times for a CABG
Hi Would anyone know whether the NHS has set targets for heart bypass surgery? Researching online there appears to be guidelines for non-urgent elective surgery giving examples of cataract and hip replacement surgeries which should be conducted within an 18 week period. I also read on an NHS website
