Hereditary?
I had a a 4 x CABG in May. At the time my doc said my condition was probably 'hereditary' as no prior high BP or high cholesterol etc and my Dad also had a bypass at age 55. The report the surgeon gave me post op stated he found 'diffuse disease' and 3 arteries were occluded. Does anyone know if this

Scars
Hi all hope you are enjoying your Friday. Has any one had any one had any experience with Hypertropic scars? I think my arm where they tried to harvest arteries for my CABG is going that way, although no arteries were used. Thanks in advance x

Looking forward to the future.
Hi, Thank you for adding me to your community. I had a severe angina attack on 23rd May 2018, was rushed to my local A&E and within 10 days had a Quadruple Heart Bypass (CABG) operation. 7 weeks since the operation, I am now at home and my recovery is going really well, so far with no complications.

How to reduce Calcium Score ??
I was given a CAT scan that was cut short with the message "Cannot continue with Calcium Score of 1829"! . After other scans I was given a CABG. I am unaware of how a CABG reduces the Calcium Score of the gunge in the unchanged arteries. I am 75 and have always been fit and active and had a good diet

Sleeping/sleep position post cabg
Hi all, l am now about a week and a half post op, double CABG. Everything seems to be moving along ok, I’m doing my exercises, getting a bit stronger by the day, the op seems like ages ago already. One thing I’m struggling with is sleep. Not so much getting to sleep, but trying to sleep on my back when

My Mum has some auto-immune issues that are getting worse: can anyone help ?
My mum's leg is worrying me lately: here's why: She had an emergency heart bypass a few years ago after having to be resuscitated twice. This meant taking a vein from her leg to use for bypass. This meant that one of her legs does not drain lymph fluid well, which is a normal side-effect of the operation

Failed angioplasty
Hi everyone, I’m 37 and suffered a heart attack. After an angiogram they found I have 1 blocked artery and another which is 70% blocked. I was told I needed an angioplasty to have a stent inserted, so a few months later they had their first attempt but failed. 2 months later the procedure was tried again

Strong emotions causing HA?
Recently I had a HA 30 minutes after seeing my favourite football team lose a very important game. I had to have emergency CABG 1 week later as 3 of my arteries were found to be blocked after angiogram. My question is this: How can strong emotions be connected with my arteries being clogged up? To

Updates - there's always something more...
Well, it seems that I am not doing bad for someone who, before June 2018, had never stayed in hospital. If an NSTEMI wasn't enough on June 4th, I was admitted to A&E on Wednesday with dizziness, weakness, breathlessness, tachycardia and atrial fibrillation. Turns out that I have now been diagnosed with

The Myth that T3 causes Heart Problems?
I am always reading that GPs/Endos. say that excess T3 can cause heart attacks/irregular beats and yet I also read that T3 protects the heart; who is right. Here is a small extract from one of the studies I have read: Patients with heart disease frequently display a typical pattern of altered thyroid
