My father 64 yr old had blocked artery bypass surgery before 2 weeks.he is DIABETIC
He developed high creatine 4.1 in kidneys, it means kidneys are infected and doctor suggest dialysis. So my question is is it really necessary and what is the risk in it for diabetic patient?
Now doctor found blood and lung infection as well and they said now situation is critical. My whole family is in trauma. My mother is in hospital more than 25 days and nights and says she only come back home with my father.
Any help will be appreciated
Please do reply asap.
thanks

just saw this now. our stories are very similar, my mum has been sedated and on the respirator for 7 weeks now. dialyzed 3 times and kidneys are now function but still struggling to get weaned off respirator. Is your dad now ok?
no mate. he passed away. he had a sepsis shock after that. multi organ failure. after few dialysis his blood pressure was going low and low. Mate tell your doctors make sure prevent all hospital acquired dieseases. any blood infection can be deadly and tell them to do all blood culture report frequently if possible. because in my case they found Elizabethlingia some thing deadly bacteria in blood culture after they spread in whole body.
Mate let me know anything else if you want to discuss. and don't worry your mum will be alright soon.
Really really sorry to hear that your dad passed. Keep standing strong and I will keep you in my prayers. You are right about the blood cultures, they last week found a staph infection which they were treating and hopefully we have overcome that. for now tests are been done frequently to pick up any new infection. Her sedation drip tissued yesterday and they weren't able to find veins to put in a new drip so she has been off sedation for a few hours as a result of that. She seems to be coping quite well though high pulse every now and then. Hyperventilation has reduced, hoping, praying and believing that it will be good news going forward. thanks for the support, these are really tough times.
