New.. Help!!
Hi All, I'm really new here but worried and wondered if you could offer any advice? I had some blood tests done this week as my GP suspected I might have gall stones (bit of discomfort generally in the tummy, not just upper abdomen) and a couple of my lf tests were slightly elevated. My GGT was 95 and

Total LAVH hysterectomy with adhesiolysis - still in pain
Hi. I hope someone can help me. I had decades of pelvic pain which was helped by my taking the combined pill in my 20s (not allowed it post 30 due to migraines....). I had several pelvic ultrasound scans which didn't show anything untoward and a laparoscopy in 2007 which showed no signs of endometriosis

Hi everyone. Well as you can guess I'm finally home after hysterectomy, ovary removal and excision surgery on Thursday afternoon. Took a bit longer due to complications after surgery. But I must say I feel fantastic. I'm in no pain just find I get tired very easily. Really was expecting it to be worse

Gallstones
I have a large gallstone that is 2 centimeters in diameter. Apart from it causing a constant ache under my ribs, down my right side and arm, it also cause discomfort and pain when I swallow food. Does anyone else have this problem?

Emotional
Hi hope everyone is as well as can be. I'm due to have hysterectomy (due to adenomyosis), ovary removal and excision on Thursday. I'm 42 with no children. I thought I had come to terms with this but the last few days I just feel so emotional. Anyone else who has had a hysterectomy did you feel like this

drinking coffee with PBC cirrhosis stage
Hi folks, I've tried everything over the years and all natural therapists always say coffee is toxic for the liver so I stopped drinking it 20 years ago. Then there was a reference on this site somewhere saying it helps the fibrosis in the liver. So I asked my gastroenterologist ( i live near sydney

Go on Living, I Guess!
I had a Cholecystectomy:
Gallbladder
Removal
. After I recovered, it was apparent that all my vexing health issues had gone with my diseased, infected gallbladder and the fist sized, single gall stone that were removed; my depression even abated. Now, it's time to go on living, I guess!

Confused!
Post cholecystectomy. Enlarged gall bladder but no obvious stone. Liver function tests raised. Post op liver function tests all return to normal but positive AMA M2. No other signs or symptoms. Just wondering if M2 could have been positive because of op conditions and now LFTs are normal and any

Hi all, I know I've been posting on here a lot just lately but recovering at home alone, its just good to talk to other ladies. So I'm now getting used to being in surgical menopause, the hot flushes are nowhere near as bad as they were on prostap but I'm getting myself all stressed and worried about

Bi lateral salpingo oopherectomy
Hi has anyone has a BSO in their mid fifties onwards? I have just been found to have a large ovarian cyst and it has to be removed along with my fallopian tubes and ovaries and wondered what this means post menopause in respect of hormones?

Hi I'm a newbie here
I'm Kim 56 yrs old and during a routine lumbar MRI a few weeks back a large 11.5cm cyst was found in my pelvic area. I saw a wonderful gynae specialist last night in a fast track clinic and she has said it has to come out along with my fallopian tubes and ovaries so I am due to have a bi lateral salpingo

Confused!!
Hi ladies going to have a bit of a rant I'm afraid. I was admitted to Stepping Hill on Wednesday for bilateral oophorectomy removal of tubes and cervix with probable bowel resection. I had to endure bowel prep and starve myself all day Wednesday, I had a bed booked on high dependency and so had psyched

Link between elevated liver enzymes and gall bladder removal?
I stuck my head in the sand for a year just hoping this PBC thing would go away. It didn't. I've finally scheduled a liver biopsy for the middle of March. During the visit to the specialist to get the ball rolling he said something curious about the results of the abdominal scan conducted last year and

Sofakitty saying hello.
Hello, I've just joined this forum and hoping it will give me the support I need to lose the extra weight I'm carrying. I managed to lose 10kg about five years ago before a gall-bladder operation. It was pretty easy to lose all that weight at the time as I went on a very low-fat diet, as any fat or oil
