Hi there .

I am sorry you are in pain . How old are you ?

I had gallstones when I was 17 which is pretty unusual, at least that's what my doctor said.. :) and I was going through hell. I had a severe bilious attack, literally couldn't breathe and I was in so much pain I had to go to the hospital immediately, then got an appointment for surgery three months later. It was badly inflamed, but my gall bladder needed to be taken out. There is probably no other way to treat this, you can be extra careful of what you eat , but I believe you can't and shouldn't live with this for long as it's not going to just go away. I lived on plain tea and fat free biscuits for three months, my hair got thin , I got anemic because I was so scared that I would have an attack again. So that's no joke.

Believe me , you are going to feel so much better if you have the operation. It is laparoscopic so you'll have four barely visible tiny little scars , and you'll recover quickly after it . And you are supposed to eat less fat, less dairy and spicy food as you might have diarrhea, and try avoiding alcohol as it would just mess with your liver, produce more bile than your intestines can deal with and it can be really painful. But this depends on the individual, everyone is different, you will have to experience with food, so you'll know what your body can take or won't tolerate.

I hope you're gonna be over with it soon, and don't be scared of the surgery, you will be able to live a full healthy life after it :)

Good luck

I am 69. My Gallstone is the result of hypothyroidism which slows your metabolism to a crawl and consequently effects digestion. Did you find it painful to swallow? I feel as if my whole stomach is on fire and I have a nagging ache on my right side.

How did the infection present itself? I have a constant ache on my right side. I feel as if my stomach is on fire and it hurts (oesophagal/stomach region) to swallow food
