Thyroid function tests
Hi all, The GP has printed off a form for me to take to the hospital tomorrow to check my TSH levels. I’ve noticed on the form it says, ‘thyroid function tests’. Does this include T3 and T4? I know last time I only had a result for TSH. If so, do I need to fast? My test isn’t until 4pm.

Seeking information about encephalomalacia
Hi , I’m new to this site . I have recently given up working to become a carer for my partner who had a TBI in 2009 . He received a bleed to the brain and had to have a craniotomy . Amazingly he recovered and even went back to work but in 2018 I noticed a change in his walking and a movement in his eye

Update (partly for my own records) Day one scan and next steps
I had my day one scan for my second transfer (first frozen today). All looked fine and my lining was thin enough to begin to move forward with our cycle. I’m on 5 progynova tablets per day 3 orally, 2 vaginally- seems like a lot! And I am still on Nafarelin but only a half dose (one spray up the nose

Sleep Apnea and afib
Greetings across the pond........I'm 81 and have been dealing with afib for 11years. I had my first ablation 2 weeks ago and was back in afib 4 days later. Today I had a cardioversion which was successful; and of course, I hope it lasts. The team who administered the procedure reported that sleep apnea

Dentistry.
I have PMR and have also been treated for Acoustic Neuroma by Gamma Knife surgery. The Acoustic Neuroma is no longer active but damage remains. I presently take 10mgm Prednisone daily in one dose. I need several dental extractions on the same side (upper jaw). Should I expect my dentist to refer me to

Anxiety
Living with this condition is so hard. I struggle to find the good in any day, and it makes me loathe everything around me. I take good things and make them bad, and always think I’ve done something wrong. I check the stove top to make sure it’s off at least three times every morning to make sure

Improved sleep on anti-anxiety medication / antidepressants.
Has anyone gone on anti-anxiety meds or antidepressants (those that don't exacerbate RLS) and found that their sleep quality improved? Following on from a recent post containing Andy Berkowski's video on whether Periodic Limb Movement Disorder actually exists, i've been looking at alternative explanations

Newbie - Is this Normal? Should I have Treatment?
Good morning! I'm a newbie here and i'm just unsure as to whether I should accept what my GP is telling me and put up with it or go private. A bit of history - I'm 46, female, overall good health historically but diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Deficiency (Early menopause) in my early thirties.

Any experiences of Lamotrigine for bipolar 2 depression?
I'm a 64 year old woman and got a diagnosis of bipolar 2 a couple of years ago. I haven't been on any meds until now, but am finally taking the plunge as the prolonged severe depressive episodes have made life untenable. I'm looking at options for meds and Lamotrigine seems to get good reviews for prevention

Why Self Care is so important in managing your IBS…
My story starts with having being diagnosed with IBS seven years ago and I will have to be honest, it hasn't been an easy journey so far. However, for the past three months I have successfully kept my IBS symptoms at bay through Self Care. I will explain a little later what I mean by 'Self Care' but

acyclovir and kidney care
I have follicular lymphoma. I’m not interested in taking acyclovir as I was born with only one kidney. I’m wondering if anyone knows of an antiviral that doesn’t harm the renal function that can replace acyclovir? thank you.

Recent exacerbation of PLMD
Hi everyone. I’ve been on Pregabalin for 10 months after coming off Pramipexole. I’m taking 350mg around 8:30pm but have given up trying to go to bed before 11:30-midnight. Whilst RLS is well controlled, the PLMD isn’t. Most recently I am now getting PLMD as soon as or shortly after I get into bed. Sleep

Two-Week Checkpoint: No Progress
It has been two weeks since my declaration and I haven't lost a pound. I think I have developed an eating disorder because I am very pressured at home (studious family atmosphere LOL). I eat well during the day, every meal is balanced & low-cal, and then after 8 pm, I just can't resist a value pack of

Looking for a friend or social group
It is very hard for me to keep friends as my brain doesn't always help me in social situations. I have autism and body dysmorphia which are my biggest hinders (besides other diagnoses like depression etc) I would like a friend who is open minded with my daily struggle and accepts my peculiar personality
