Alendronic Acid - is it worth it?
Rheumatologist had just prescribed AA as the pred will be 'killing my bones'. She wants me to take it for 6 months then have a DEXA scan to see if I need to continue. Seems a bit of a barmy way round to me, but hey ho. So I have been reading back through all the posts I can find and am now absolutely

Post Docetaxel treatment plan
Happy Holidays to all! Thank you for all your posts, every morning I do my Father's research since he has been diagnosed in May and we learn so much valuable information on this site. My father completed his 6 rounds of Docetaxel and responded really well and tolerated it quite well at 75 years old

Lupron versus Eligard
Been on Lupron and Prolia for 6 years with amazing results. Undetectable PSA the whole time after a post op PSA doubling time of 3 weeks. Went for shots today and surprise! No Lupron available??? Worldwide shortage???? So they gave me Eligard. Still very upset with the change as I didn’t want to mess

yet. The endocrinologist has prescribed Prolia but I am quite chary of taking it, especially after I just read some things in this forum! I am exercising now, and taking a Vit D/calcium supplement and am very willing to do whatever it takes NOT to go on medicine.

Missed tablets
Last night, for the first time in a year or so I missed taking my Lodotra (4mg). This morning I am in no pain. Could this possibly mean my adrenals are perhaps working after all? Having aggressive OA I have often wondered if the pain I have daily is mostly OA and not PMR.

A success story
Really proud of myself today and I’m here to brag I’m afraid - look away now if that’s going to demotivate or annoy you! I started my couch to 5k journey in 2013.... tried it a few times, quit around week 5 each time. Started it again in June 2020 following a few months of feeling very sorry for myself

PSA rise on Zytiga
Hello fellow warriors. Metastatic, Gleason 9, many mets. On Zytiga for about 2 years with undetectable PSA. Two months ago a rise to 0.4, and then 6 weeks later it doubled to 0.8. I assume such a velocity means Zytiga is failing. Is that right? Thanks!!!

Bit of worry about Evenity
I'm a 60 yr/old female, fit and active, and just diagnosed with osteoporosis (-3.2 on a couple of vertebrae, -2.5 for rest). I'm in the US and was referred to both an endocrinologist and a rheumatologist and both of them recommended Evenity. My insurance will cover, and I have low risk of CV (a main

Should I try Zometa for Castrate sensitive Bone mets on ADT
Hi gents. My specs: 52 years, Stage 4, Lots of bone Mets and pain. Dx April 2020 on ADT Orchiectomy and Zytiga. PSA came down from 300 in April, now 0.1. However bone pain persists. Visited a new Dr, and he recommends Zoledronic acid infusions. I am Castrate sensitive according to the definition,

X Ray results.
I had an xray on my shoulder and got the following results. Not sure what they mean. I called the GP as it said follow up required but she didn't give any indication of what the results actually meant. She just said she is waiting for my ultra sound results first, which I haven't had yet as I am awaiting

Injuries
I’ve just started the second week. And have pain just under my knee. I feel like it may be shin splints and I’m gutted as it took a lot of motivation to start and feel like I’m going to have to stop again already

Starting xgeva next month
Has anybody had a reaction to xgeva, starting next month, taking prednisone with the abritone . Now castration resistant moving on to the more expensive and stronger drugs. I also read in trials that xgeva kills cancer cells by red flagging the cells so the immune system can kill them. Dr wants to do

I just learned something new about prednisone.
So my doc is putting me on Xtandi since Zytiga didn't work for me for very long which is a bummer. Since I was running out of it doc said keep taking it until it's gone and then switch to Xtandi. Well.... it still hasn't come yet and it's been a month. since my doc ordered it. I should be getting it

Puzzled by diagnosis
I’m not doubting the dexa scan results but how is it possible that I have not had any
fractures
or compression
fractures
to date? Also, my fingernails are very strong. No chipping or splitting. Every one in my family is petite and there is family history. Have I just been lucky all this time?

Not having much luck
Those following my journey know my Radium 223 basically did nothing and my PSA went up to 300, in Oct my Oncologist tried Zytiga combined with Prednisolon, within a couple of weeks my PSA dropped right down to 88 and I even had an improvement in pain levels, which allowed me to drop the large quantities
