IBS-D, What has worked for me
FODMAP
It took a while, but once I had sorted what I could eat from what I could not, and giving it chance to work, I believe this has really helped me loads. I also baked low
FODMAP
cakes, as I have a sweet tooth.

Burping
Fodmap
diet, leaky gut diet, specific carbohydrate diet, free from just about everything diet. My main problem is constipation and I get all the other usual symptoms. I burp a lot and am wondering what this means and if anybody knows of any supplements for this.

Amitriptyline and IBS
I've been on a
Fodmap
diet but nothing seems to get rid of my symptoms which are mainly abdominal cramps and spasms. I was thinking of asking my GP to prescribe amitriptyline for me again but I wanted to see if anybody had any success with it.

Try acupuncture and Chinese herbs
Diet plays a big part in the symptoms and if I stick to the Monash University Low
FodMap
diet (download the app and you will find a guide which will help when shopping or eating out) and don't deviate then the IBS is resolved. However when I feel myself getting stressed and anxious I find acupuncture

Struggling :(
Was feeling slightly better after being referred to a nutritionist as they want me to start the low
FODMAP
diet for 8 weeks after Christmas. I went to my work Christmas party yesterday and drank alcohol for the first time in a year as is previously been too worried about how my body would react.

My Story
All my symptoms where what they discribed so I began avoiding all high
fodmap
foods. It made a huge difference for my bloating after a while and I did feel better. I even got into a small time when I had my first normally formed bowel movements then I had in months! The diet really worked!

Anyone used the FODMAP diet?
I suspect I have what would be diagnosed as IBS and I am REALLY reluctant to go to my doc with it, because I'm sure that's the label I'll get slapped on me, but I recently saw the
FODMAP
diet recommended for IBS sufferers and at this stage (I'm getting very reluctant to eat at all), I don't think I have

IBS Linked With Anxiety?
I'm still under the care of the gastro team, and have also begun the low
FODMAP
diet. There has been some suttle changes in my stomach problems, but nothing I would ever shout from the rooftops about.

Started the low FODMAP diet yesterday and my symptoms are worse than ever! Do I try and eat something or should I wait?
I am following the instructions in Patsy Catsos' book and I started the elimination stage of the low
FODMAP
diet yesterday with gluten free corn flakes and soya milk which was fine. I had diarrhoea shortly after but that was probably due to the previous days food intake.

For some, I believe the Paleo diet is far better than the FODMAP diet...
Right now my Mirtazapine Rx is keeping my diarrhea at bay... but, like I have told everyone... I'm not holding my breath! We KNOW how tricky IBS can be. Beginning about a year ago, I started the Paleo diet... its very cleansing and you absolutely, resolutely CAN NOT CHEAT one bite (and then say 'oh,
