I don't know where to go from here
Good evening everyone, I hope you are all having a blessed evening. I have just come from visiting my husband, and was met by the nurse who will do the acessment on his care needs. My husband had a stroke three months ago. According to this nurse, he will only have extra 6 weeks of physiotherapy

Catheterization GA or Not?
I just have a question about how your kids got on if they had urodymamics tests done with catheterization and did they tolerate tube getting put in bladder without getting too upset? One Doctor told me that a 7 year old wouldn't tolerate it being put in so they would give her a general anaesthetic and

Sudden onset of apathy! Help!
I have been working through Couch to 5K since February and really enjoying it (see my previous post). Running and visits to the gym have left me feeling healthier, happier and certainly slimmer! On Wednesday (24th) I completed the final run from week 8, and got home tired but happy and satisfied, all

What to Expect - Hydrogen Breath Test
Hi all, I'll be having a hydrogen breath test (to see if I have SIBO?) on Tuesday. I have halitosis - which gets worse the longer I go without mints or gum. I'm feeling anxious about the health care assistants/hospital staff being able to smell it, as I undertake the test. Someone suggested I could

Slow stream rehabilitation
It is now nearly 10months since my partners accident and he is still currently undergoing rehab. Having been in a coma for 12 weeks he is still currently in a ‘confused’ state which I suspect will continue for a while yet. He will continue with rehab where he is until most likely September when it has

My wife is leaving me for another woman
Hi. My wife and met 8 years ago, married for 4 years. Last year we bought our dream apartment together and planning our futures. We wanted to have kids also. Our relationship was great and was never boring. We have same passions in life. Last week we went to the beach for the day. We were holding hands

10yo had an accident at school
My poor 10yo DS has come down with a tummy bug. Yesterday morning he felt a bit off but had no signs of sickness and he is often tired in the mornings so went to school. Then about mid-day I had a call to come and get him because he had diarrhoea and pooed his pants. It happened in a lesson and apparently

Thought I had PV, maybe it's IE? Anyone with IE out there?
Hi, I have been told I have PV, or some variant of it as I do not have the JAK2 mutation or splenomegaly and the only blood abnormalities are RBC, HGB and HCT (when not been made to be anemic from phlebotomies to keep me under 42 hematocrit,) I can't find much information on IE. Anyone out there dealing

Placenta praevia grade 2 - 32 week scan
Hi, I was admitted to hospital in the early hours of Tuesday morning as I woke up with bleeding. Thankfully the bleeding was from my cervix rather than placenta but I was kept in for

ESA - A good result I think...
After a work capability assessment earlier this year, my 35 year old son (severe brain injury, 2013) was given 0 points and all benefits were stopped suddenly. I had received a call from DWP advising me of this decision and that his benefits would stop that day. I was also advised to apply for Universal

Second Appointment on Tuesday!
So I’ve had a massive blow out over the Easter Weekend. I’ve enjoyed BBQs and gins in this sunshine. Rather than drinking to numb the empty feeling I carry everyday I turned it on it’s head and tried to be positive- “This may be the last time I can drink in the sunshine for a while!” (BTW I’m not an

Bisacodyl dose
Hi folks. Following advice from my consultant, I have been taking 20 mg bisacodyl twice per day for the last five weeks since I was discharged from hospital. I am concerned about side effects though haven’t been suffering from nausea or vomiting. Does anyone have any views?
