Soiling issue

My son has been on movicol for at least a year we was doing well - sometimes the odd accident every few months which was great he has half packet every 4 days and since he had been on antibiotics for Scarlet fever a month ago he has been soiling himself daily sometimes can up to 3 times a day.

The antibiotics made him have watery diarrhoea as a side affect I believe and doctor advised to stop the movicol for a week or so till back to normal and finished course. Since then a month later he’s back on the movicol every 4 days but having the accidents. I’m not sure what would happen if I stop it but I obviously don’t want to cause a blockage. He last had the dosage Saturday, Saturday no accidents, Sunday 1 missed realised after and today 2 accidents this afternoon. Didn’t realise had done them. The stools are quite soft and sticky and not solid.

Unsure how I should play this. Does he need more. Does he need no Movicol?

Currently awaiting to here back from school nurse for further advise

I don’t know specifically about this problem but as antibiotics wipes out all the guy bacteria you could try introducing a probiotic to try and balance his gut bacteria out a bit.

Good luck

He’s been off antibiotics for a month so not sure it’s that it’s just when it’s started.

I’ve noticed he isn’t going every day - maybe every other day and seems to be soft accidents in pants I’m thinking about changing his movicol dosage to every 2 days or so for now as think maybe blocked up but not really sure and don’t want to mess it up even more with more accidents
