My poor 10yo DS has come down with a tummy bug. Yesterday morning he felt a bit off but had no signs of sickness and he is often tired in the mornings so went to school. Then about mid-day I had a call to come and get him because he had diarrhoea and pooed his pants. It happened in a lesson and apparently others in his class know. I came and got him and he he had been crying. He is still absolutely mortified. He started wetting the bed again this year and had to go back into pull ups which was a massive blow to his confidence and now this.
He is still sick and had another accident in bed this morning. Thankfully he had pull ups on which saved his pjs and bed but he was still embarrassed.
Not sure how to make him feel better. I've told him it happens but he is still embarrassed. Any ideas?

Everyone goes through embarrassing stuff like that sometimes, but knowing that doesn’t make it feel much better at the time.
I’d have a quiet chat with school when he goes back in as they always seem to handle these things well. My son has had ongoing soiling for years including accidents at school when he was much younger. We found out one time that his ‘friends’ had been calling him names as a result - after we let his teacher know it never happened again. Don’t know what magic wand she used but sure your son’s teacher has a similar one somewhere!
He was back at school this week and I had a word with the teacher who agreed to look out for any name calling. Thankfully there has not been any. At home DS2 had been making fun of his accidents and I told him off for thit. DS2 then came down with the same bug earlier this week and was off school. He had a few rather embarrassing accidents himself so I don't think he will be calling anyone names anymore!
