Slow stream rehabilitation

It is now nearly 10months since my partners accident and he is still currently undergoing rehab. Having been in a coma for 12 weeks he is still currently in a ‘confused’ state which I suspect will continue for a while yet.

He will continue with rehab where he is until most likely September when it has been suggested that he will continue with slow stream rehab. It would appear that there aren’t many places that specialise in this type of rehab but does anyone know how I can find out more about such facilities and where might be under consideration.

My partner suffered a severe tbi diffuse Axonal injury. It is likely that he will need support/care for the rest of his life.

I had hoped to take him home but that doesn’t seem likely that will be a possibility in the short term and I wouldn’t want to do anything to prevent him from getting the best possible chance of achieving the maximum possible recovery.

My partner has just been awarded slow stream rehab.he has been in hospital for 8 months. It took 5 months to find somewhere to accept him and the funding to be approved. We are waiting on a bed availability hopefully over the next few weeks. He is so ready for this and I'm hoping they can give him the help he needs. Like you I want to bring him home but know this may not be possible. I have to have that goal still in my mind to keep me going.
