Any taking Linaclotide? I feel like it is helping my abdomen pain... bowels movements are all over the place at the moment.

But the side effects are messing with me badly. I am very dizzy all the time to the point I feel like I’m going to faint. Nauseous and vomiting in the first few days. I have been on it for 11 days and just hoping the side effects disappear.

I was taking it but now having Chinese meds and massive probiotics so don't need it. It helped at the time but gave me diarrhea and dizziness. Even when taking it, I still had to irrigate my colon every day but not so much now. Hope your symptoms ease off.

Hello. What Chinese herbs and Probiotics are you taking please?

I have no idea about the Chinese herbs as I see a qualified doctor and she prescribes and supplies them. I was taking 20 billion parts BioAcidophilus from Biocare. Now I am taking 450 billion parts VSL#3 for one month then will be back to lower dose. I was prescribed these by Kate Arnold who I went through to get my comprehensive stool test which showed I had large infestations of two parasites and virtually no friendly gut bacteria. She said I could ask doctor for antibiotics for the parasites but not recommended so I went to the Chinese doctor to deal with these. It seems to be working.

Thank you for your response. Is Kate Arnold in the US or UK?

That is very odd? Dizziness and vomiting? I have been on it for 7 years every day and nothing but cramps and diarrhea a bit

I had prucalopride a few wars ago and had to stop because the side effects were so awful..

So now I am trying these.

Yes, the dizziness and light headed makes me feel like I could faint at any second.

As t has only been 11 days would you persist be see if they disappear?

Do you take anything alongside Linaclotide??

Yes!! And this is very crucial: I take 2 tablespoons of dr Shultz intestinal formula #3

every day and that will make you not only have a very complete BM every day but will clear everything out of your system. Go to drshultz.com and order 2 bottles. Do as it says you will thank me a million times. I take it every day for 6yrs after dinner. All natural herbs. iDK why you are getting those side effects?? It’s odd should really only be cramps and diarrhea maybe. You take it when you wake up on an empty stomach and have breakfast 30 minutes after as instructed? I also take a tablespoon of psyllium husk( pure not Metamucil) with almond milk about 5pm.

I was diagnosed with the most severe type of IBS c at the Cleveland clinic in Ohio in the top gi dept. and this regimen WILL work for you. Give it a couple more days and try this. Good luck Ron

Ah I have read about these!

I take around lunch time on an empty stomach yes!

I am a hyper sensitive person and have a lot of allergies so maybe it’s just not agreeing with me I’m not really sure

You mean the dr Shultz? Don’t take it on an empty stomach at lunch take it right after dinner. Only EVER EVER take Linzess first thing in the morning on empty stomach and must eat breakfast 30 minutes later and you will go to the bathroom right after.

The dr Schultz will cost me ALOT to get from America... so I haven’t tried it

The Linzess I have been taking in the afternoon to prevent me needing the loo during work

You must never ever take Linzess at any time other than first thing in am. You can wake up an hour earlier. I take it at 7:00 ear at 7:30 and in BR at 7:35-8:15. Your GI dr should have told you that is why you are getting side effects and it can do harm if taken during day. Please do as I say and wake up earlier tomorrow and no matter what the cost you must get dr Shultz it will cause you to get rid of all fecal matter backed up- I had 7 lbs of it in my body and in his book he has seen patients in California where he is, with 20 lbs of stool sitting in their colon. Get 4 or 5 bottles so it’s worth the shipping. I went to the best GI dr on the USA at the Cleveland Clinic- dr Donald Kirby

Ok thank you! No I wasn’t told this information!

It’s a liquid and tastes fine. In a small bottle. 2 tablespoons after dinner. Go to the website and order #3. Not #1 or 2. 😊

DM14 Have you tried food intolerance tests? have found improvement with symptoms without taking medication, by removing all my intolerances. When I had to change my diet is was annoying - every food I liked had to be put on the back burner - wheat - no bread and cakes - rye - no bread biscuits - barley - no barley drinks or beer, or malt - maize - no sweetcorn or corn flour corn syrup or sorbitol - rice - no foods with rice and dairy - had to go lactase free but cannot touch soft or cottage cheese yoghurts ice cream - and egg.

Despite changing my diet I eat well and have not looked back. Diabetes under control.

Am glad I had food test.

I have done a wheat free/ gluten free/dairy free diet myself and found no changes.

I am deadly allergic to all nut or nut products..

Where did you have the test? Are you in the UK?

in reply to DM14

Yes Am in the uk - if you live in near/outer London have a list of 118 chemists alone which I have screened for Alphega group for the allergy test.

If you have bad nut allergies then you may have undiscovered allergies such as egg and multi grain diets such as rye barley and oats. Being gluten free may not be the only factors in your histamine response to various foods. To find the special pharmacies and chemists in your area linked to Alphega pharmacy you can log on to Alphega website and a list may appear of pharmacies in your area. I had to test each one in my area to look at the allergy service as each chemist may have different services. The test was a finger prick test administered by the pharmacist who took a full history. The test is German and took about an hour before the results came back. I had the problem for years but it went completely out of control with stress. The new change in diet has helped. I now look at the back of products with magnifying glass as often there can be nut dairy gluten traces in flours, which are from food used for other products from. The test was £70 a year ago. The chemist chains are all linked to the NHS but my GP was not particularly interested in any of my allergies so they are not on file. Egg dairy and gluten are form part of autoimmune disease in celiac disease but other grain and allergies are only recently being accepted.
