Pregnant @6 weeks
I have hypertension possibly due to CKD according to my doctors. Found out a couple of weeks ago that I’m pregnant so doctors switched me from Benazepril 40 to Amlodipine 5 to Nifedipine 60. Took them today and boy my heart starts racing. Looked it up and possible side effect is Tachycardia. This made

Cautious
Hi, I have tried a few BP drugs and had side effects. I now refused to take anything as my life was miserable. I don't have any angina, I don't have heart problems and my BP isn't high away from doctors. I monitor it daily. The doctor machine fell apart and was too small cuff, I had to hold in place

ED (erectile dysfunction)
One of the most common problems with long term TYPE 1 insulin dependant diabetes is ED and I’m not embarrassed to say I suffer with this and have done for the last 25yrs or more having had Type 1 diabetes for 43yrs now. Most type 1’s, don’t seem to suffer with diabetic complications for many years

Tissue Mitral Valve Replacement 1yr on - and coming OFF meds to use Alternative Integrated Supplements...increase pulse & can't gain weight!
1 - I've been fairly quiet on here, although did contribute a little some months back. However, my resting heart rate (over night, during sleep) has risen from 59-65 to 70-75 over the last month or so. I had an echocardiogram a couple of months back, which showed my ejection fraction lower than before

Question about a stone
This is really a question for a friend. She has only one kidney. She has a 12 mm and a 5mm stone in the lower lobe. Her GFR runs between 36-39. She is on Ramipril and then they put her on potassium citrate...which of course over loaded her system and she was hospitalized. She is off the potassium citrate

Heart meds and sea sickness medication - advice needed please
Hello all, I'm on holiday in Thailand right now - my first long haul trip since my treatment with 5 stents and my diagnosis of CAD 18 months ago. Happily i'm feeling very well. We've booked a speedboat trip on Friday and I've been advised to take sea sickness medication in advance. In fact I understand

Couple of questions about isosorbide mononitrate modified release
As I understand it (from the NICE guidelines) you have to have a period of downtime from the effects of isosorbide mononitrate or else you can become intolerant to it. You should only take it once a day. I take 30mg each morning. But as it lasts only about 10 hours then there's a long time during the

verapamil
I was on ramipril and bisopolol for high blood pressure and fast heart beat, had to stop bisopolol because of side effects. GP prescribed verapamil instead which is ACE antagonist (not beta blocker) Bit wary of taking this with ramipril. Any one else on this combination?

Weight gain is making me miserable - but which drug is it?
I’m 65, have always been slim and pretty healthy. Everything has fallen apart in the last six months. I’m now on 10mg of Bisoprolol, 50mg of Losartan and 5mg of Amlodipine a day! I’m piling on weight and my legs are swelling, both of which are making me very miserable. I guess it’s better than being
