Had to go to ER for High BP. Anyone have advice on how long it takes to go down?
Recently went to ER as BP went to 265/184. Blood work showed no issues. MRI showed no brain bleed and echo was good (small murmur doc said nothing to be concerned about). Was told I dodged a bullet. Hospital was able to lower to 180’s over 90’s in three days. On 100 mg amlodipine and 10 mg of losartan

NTproBNP blood test
I had the above blood test on 27th October. Was finally told the results today via snail mail. BNP is showing as 1278. I'm assuming this confirms heart failure? Cardiac nurse is asking GP to prescribe me Furosemide 40mg for three days then 20mg daily after. I have constant afib following a massive pulmonary

Advice
Hi, I’m new here. Acute heart failure July 2018, many med changes without success, CRT-D fitted Nov 2018. Further med changes since then including changing from Ramipril to Entresto. Still no improvement. Now consultant is discussing heart transplant and I’m scared. Any support or advice very much appreciated

Amlodipine
Hello Gents. Since October 7th when I was given Eligard I have experienced severe constipation and elevated blood pressure (high 150-160). Previously I have taken Lupron every 3 months for the past 4 years. Realistically if Kaiser had reviewed my medical files prior to administering Eligard they would

New HFpEF diagnosis
Hi, I’ve just been diagnosed with HFpEF ( heart failure with preserved ejection fraction) and I was seen by a private cardiologist. I presented in clinic with swollen feet, legs and ankles and breathlessness when going up stairs. I also had a slightly raised BNP blood level. I have been prescribed Furosemide

AF diagnosis but feeling suffocated when not in AF as well??
Having a bit of a rough time here. In and out of fast AF although medicated. Looks like I might have an enlarged heart, had echocardiogram done about 6 or more weeks ago, and heart monitor for 7 days. I know they definately captured some of my issues because of a few of the days I was so ill. Cardiologist

Heart meds and Lansozaprole
I had a mild heart attack in 2017 and currently take Amlodipine, Atorvastatin, Ramipril and low dose aspirin. My doctor wants me to take lansozaprole, supposedly to protect my stomach from the long term effect of aspirin. I don't like the look of the side effects and so far haven't taken it. Does anyone

Amlodipine or Losartin?
Hi everyone, I'm new to your group. I have been taking 50 milligrams of Atenolol and 12.5 of Hydrochlorot for my b.p. for many years. My recent ekg showed my heartbeat is a little slow. Dr. Wants we to cut back to 25 on the Atenolol and we'll be adding Amlodipine or Losartin. I really need my Beta blocker

Sudden attack
I will try and be as detailed as possible. My day has been bearable just about, I started it with my weetabix, grapes, de caf tea,and my bisoprolol 5mg and first Apixaban 5mg. I take my Sertraline 50mg about half an hour later. I have had a headache most of the day and have done very little physically
