Amlodipine: Tinnitus and Sudden Hearing Loss Possible
Because my blood pressure was running a bit higher as I age, my FORMER primary care physician encouraged me to double my dosage of amlodipine from 2.5mg to 5mg per day (a "normal, moderate dose"). Much to my distress, the ENT doctor has informed me that the higher dosage of amlodipine is the likely

Medication
Hi. I was on Amlodipine 5mg and Losartan 25mg. But the side effects from Amlodipine were not good. Bad aching joints, cough (& I’m asthmatic), itchy skin, swollen ankles and bad anxiety. Tried to speak to GP but referred to Clinical Pharmacist who has doubled the dose of Losartan. And she will review

So Confused...
Hi, First post here. I have convinced myself I have CKD and my anxiety is now horrible. My GFR is 60, creatinine is 1.0, BUN is normal. My Potassium is low and Aldosterone is high which is how this all started. My heart felt like it was going to pound out of my chest so I checked my bp and is was 185

Felodipine
Hi. I have been diagnosed with high blood pressure for about 12 months now. I was first started on Amlodipine. Very quickly I had bleeding gums, a cough and shortness of breath. It was stopped. I was then given Ramipril and suffered the same side effects. I was then given another medication to try that

Heart meds and Vitamin D
Hi. I'm currently on Ramipril, Atorvastatin, Amlodipine and low dose aspirin after a mild heart attack three years ago. Recently the government has recommended Vitamin D to help strengthen the immune system and help to ward off coronavirus. I've bought some 25mg tablets, or 1000 IUs which both myself

Ace inhibitors versus arbs
I was now told that ACE Inhibitors can cause a rise (and I now wonder whether I would have had high BP at all if I had never taken
Ramipril
?! ) I have again been prescribed 2.5mg
Felodipine
but now with 1.5mg Indapamine.

150mg Losartan?
After having a heart attack back at the start of March, I haven’t had much in the way of follow up but recently had a call from the Cardiology Pharmacologist. My GP switched me from 10mg of Ramipril a week after leaving hospital due to an allergic reaction, Covid was just kicking off so I was switched

High blood pressure
Hi. I’ve been on blood pressure medication for about 20 years. Had a HA in 2017 and some meds were changed. My BP stayed around the 135/78 mark. I took it on Sunday and it was 181/102. Went down to 162/90 on the next reading. Spoke to an out of ours gp and he said to double felodipine to 20mg as well

Had to go to ER for High BP. Anyone have advice on how long it takes to go down?
Recently went to ER as BP went to 265/184. Blood work showed no issues. MRI showed no brain bleed and echo was good (small murmur doc said nothing to be concerned about). Was told I dodged a bullet. Hospital was able to lower to 180’s over 90’s in three days. On 100 mg amlodipine and 10 mg of losartan

NTproBNP blood test
I had the above blood test on 27th October. Was finally told the results today via snail mail. BNP is showing as 1278. I'm assuming this confirms heart failure? Cardiac nurse is asking GP to prescribe me Furosemide 40mg for three days then 20mg daily after. I have constant afib following a massive pulmonary

Advice
Hi, I’m new here. Acute heart failure July 2018, many med changes without success, CRT-D fitted Nov 2018. Further med changes since then including changing from Ramipril to Entresto. Still no improvement. Now consultant is discussing heart transplant and I’m scared. Any support or advice very much appreciated
