Living Hell (SORRY FOR THE LONG POST)
I guess I should start from the beginning. I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts at 12yrs old. My appendix burst when I was 13 as they dismissed the pain as a cyst, this caused huge amount of problems and I'm 30 yrs old in a few months time and the passed 7 years have been hell. I had my first diagnostic

Intrinsic factor
I’m confused. Does negative IF mean you have the enzyme or not? Or you have the antibodies? Or not? Pleased to say my B12 count at 8 weeks was excellent - 2000 - so the 12 weekly jabs may be working and sufficient. So why am I getting neuro symptoms after 5/6 weeks? Pins and needles, the staggers,

GP stopping my B12 injections despite a positive intrinsic factor antibody result
I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2007. In 2010 I suffered a numb tongue and extreme fatigue - my b12 level was 117. I tested positive for intrinsic factor antibody and was told I had pernicious anaemia and would be on b12 injections for life. In 2013 I relocated to the seaside so registered

Hairloss
My hair is starting to shed at a fast rate again. It was growing back thicker and fuller then just about a month ago it starting coming out in clumps. I have less than a quarter of my original hair from when I was first diagnosed and that was still after significant hair loss. It’s really getting to

Should I ask for PA test?
I’m not sure what to do. In 2016 I had low b12 reading and doc advised loading doses. I have recently had gastro issues and had an endoscopy which looked normal apart from slightly lax valve. I was diagnosed with Graves in 2003 treated with RAI in 2005. I’m worried about PA as Endocrinologist wrote

What causes my b12 deficiency?
Hi everyone, long story short, since my last post I had an appointment with my Doctor scheduled anyway as it was for a review of the prescriptions I have in order for him to renew them. He was actually keen to discuss it all with me and so I got to ask his opinion on what is causing my deficiency. I

Can someone help me understand my results?
I have been reading posts for the past year trying to get my head around the wealth of info without much success. To give you some context, I failed to pass the prick test when I went to donate blood in Feb 2018. Blood service wanted me to contact GP as it wasn’t the first time they had refused my blood

Constipation release
Constapation has many reasons for ocuring. One non-invasive way of easing constipation with out medication I have found that is gentle and safe is a castor oil pack to the abdomen. Place a clean cotton small towel folded into a lidded container designated for this use only. The cloth will not be

Are these symptoms of thyroid conditions?
Good afternoon, Sorry to bother you all, was looking for some advise, I have come from the PAS community. Wondered if these symptoms could be thyroid symptoms. I am under investigation at present. Shortness of breath on exertion (stairs, washing etc) Increased heart rate on exertion up to 125bpm

haematologist appt update : for increase in B12 injections
Result 😀 After feeling v tired , foggy thinking, depressed etc & being on 1 x 3 monthly shots from being diagnosed with PA last year. I asked my GP to increase , she did other tests thyroid & hypolori etc in January which came back okay & referred to haematology. My appt was yesterday and he has agreed

Intrinsic factor
I am supplementing 5mg of methyl b12 sublingual daily. Will this affect the results if an intrinsic factor test? I decided to supplement myself after having low normal b12 238. Since supplementing the numbness and tingling has improved greatly. However I am still very off balance when walking. Any advice

Do you need folate/folic acid with injections?
Should injections be accompanied with a folate/folic acid supplement, there seem to be many differing opinions out there.

Reliable PA test
Is there a test for P A that is completely reliable? I mentioned to doctor that I’d read intrinsic factor test could be unreliable and she got irritated with me and said what’s the point of doing it if I don’t trust results! Just want to know for sure.

New here and desperate for advice
I'm new here and felling lost. B12 at 165 but GP won't treat as I'm vegetarian (eat LOADS of eggs + other dairy and Marmite!). Up to 2yrs ago, was receiving injections but these stopped when I had a blood test that showed a higher level of B12 after months of talking iron supplements for plain old anemia
