Pregnant and b12 88 - an update
Hi everyone, Following my low b12 I was prescribed loading injections of which I have had three and starting to feel a lot better! Hurrah!!! However I had a call from a GP today to say they requested further testing and my intrinsic factor has come back as normal, therefore they believe the cause

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Folate
Folate, vitamin B9, is found in leafy green vegetables, as the name suggests, although there are other food sources too. However, a significant percentage of the U.S. population was deemed to be deficient by the FDA, which intervened & mandated that grains be fortified with folic acid, effective 1/1

newly diagnosed and confused
Hello - I wonder if anyone can help me - I am confused about all of this. I'm in the UK - I went to my GP recently, saying I'd been feeling stressed at work, not sleeping well and suffering from fatigue. I've had fatigue in the past since having testicular cancer a few years ago, and have been on replacement

PMR vs Polymyalgic-onset rheumatoid disease
Update to my PMR vs naltrexone comments posted here: As I concluded at the end of those comments, I actually have polymyalgic-onset rheumatoid arthritis/disease. I've been posting on NRAS. Low dose naltrexone is working very well for my RD; I have avoided prednisone and standard RD drugs, and my blood

Decent haemotologist in the NW
Hi there, I am new to this forum. Having been messed about by NHS doctors for years in relation to my Hashi's, and having scored 25 on the PA website, due to my symptoms, I would like to see a sympathetic haemotologist in the Merseyside area to discuss B12 deficiency and possible PA and treatment. I

POSITIVE Gastric Parietal Cell AB/ Low Methylmalonic acid and Homocysteine.
My rheumatologist looked at my b12 levels last year along with some other tests and diagnosed me with PA. My family doctor disagrees because my b12 was at 319 and he says that is within normal ranges. I do test positive for the gastric parietal cell antibody 35.1 but he said my Methylmalonic acid

4 year battle to get injections reinstated
I have just started loading doses and hopefully will start to feel better soon. My daughter put in a complaint to nhs England after I had injections stopped after 19 years of having them. they reckon in 1992 it was not possible to have a test for intrinsic factor antibody test. I'm sure I did . they

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Amino Acids - Selective Restriction.
There are 20+ amino acids needed for building protein. All it takes is for one to be in short supply to cause a reduction in the growth factor IGF-I. Omnivores might be able to reduce their intake of whole protein, I suppose, but vegans would find it easier to selectively restrict a single amino acid

Never too old to Rock... but can feel ignored at PIP assessment!!
Had my PIP assessment today, both feet, left hand and both wrists in absolute agony but this meant nothing to "the nurse" who was more interested in what I can do as against what I struggle to do or cannot do. Ann had a copy of the letter sent to my Doctor's from my rheumy showing all the results and

Low heart rate, sore coccyx, twitching eyelid - thyroid test needed again?
Hi all A couple of months have passed now since I was diagnosed with low B12 and vitamin D, and supplements have certainly helped as I now have much more energy and able to exercise at the gym 3-4 times a week. However I'm still not 'normal' and the more I read the more I am convinced that it is thyroid

Colon problems or what??
Hi all- I am just curious to know if anyone out there has/had had the same symptoms as me: At Christmas (2015) I had all symptoms of a bad sinus infection/flu. It put me under the bed. I was never officially diagnosed with anything but the doctor gave me amoxicillin and sterroid. I recovered beautifully

Intrinsic Factor
Since my first test results were lost I had another sample taken seven weeks after my loading doses doses.Would this have affected the results?

High dose sublingual B12 supplementation and the Intrinsic Factor Antibodies test.
Diagnosed with a b12 defiency just over a month ago. Went vegan end of January and I think doc just assumes thats the reason as he doesn't really seem interested in any follow ups or reasons. I've been reading like crazy and actually think I've been deficient for most of my life and have also just found

Road to R-E-C-O-V-E-R-Y!!
So I was diagnosed with Lupus about 2 yrs ago. No symptoms, was feeling fine up until i got a weird rash on my left quad when I was out hiking one afternoon. I was told I had high inflammation. So instead of researching what was wrong with me, I subjected to trying this medication called Hydroxychlorine

Will B12 skew PC and IF results
Hi, I have been having injections of hydroxocobalamin from my doctor every 3 months since I was diagnosed in 2011 with PA, level was 140. At my injection 3 months ago, the nurse told me that the doctors want all their B12 injection patients to have a parietal cell antibody test. This came back negative

CHEST CRAMPS ???
I am getting chest cramps that last for a minute or so. Still no intrinsic factor results as they have been lost so had to take another b12 & intrinsic factor test. My b12 is 550 now (previously 176). but still waiting for the elusive IF results. I have resorted to buying sublinguals which have helped
