Hi, is it possible to still have PA even though my parietal cell and intrinsic factor antibody are negative and my b12 is low?
Low b12 and negative parietal cell antibody and intrinsic factor. Can it still be pernicious anaemia

Giving up hope
Morning everyone. This site is like a breath of fresh air. I had a big stomach operation when I was 28. I was told I would have pernicious anaemia because of my intrinsic factor. I had B12 every month and felt fine. About 4 years ago a young doctor told me after my routine annual blood test I didn’t

Is it normal to feel super tired after injection?
Hi guys, I was recently diagnosed with PA following 2 positive intrinsic factor antibody tests. I had my first injection of B12 a couple of days ago and have felt super tired and a bit nauseous since. Now I feel tired anyway most of the time, but its been worse this last couple of days. Is this normal

Positive for antibodies to Intrinsic Factor, extensive neurological involvement, but high active b12 - can anyone explain the latter? I have been supplementing for years with b12 spray, for years, on advice of functional medicine Dr. Many thanks in advance for your replies.

Cost of Tests
Can someone please tell me what it would cost to have Pernicious Anemia tests done privately? I had NHS bloods sent off a while ago and my GP told me they were all negative. When I asked to see the results she was reluctant to show me. I got to see them eventually and most of them were listed as '

Declining b12
Hi all, since my last post my Medichecks active b12 came in at 39, which is borderline. Doctors retested my serum b12 and it has come down from 209 to 190, when I actually started taking supplements! I fought my GP and had an intrinsic factor antibody test today (haven’t taken b12 since April 27th so

Has anyone tried castor oil to shrink nodules?
I have subclinical hyperthyroidism and a goitre with nodules ,I have been using castor oil topically to shrink my thyroid/nodules and haven't noticed any changes yet, though I have only been using it for a few months a few times a week. Has anyone tried this home remedy to shrink nodules/goitre with success

Does anyone recommend Losartan or Ace inhibitors?
I have issues with Amlodipine: anxiety, dizziness, insomnia. weight gain, exhaustion and have cut down to 2.5 mg with some improvement. Not sure if some of this is pandemic related anyway but have had amlodipine for over a year now and would like to try something else. My current readings are around

Advice for when GP won't act?
Hi guys, I've now had a second intrinsic factor antibody test (privately). Both my private tests came out positive for IF, but the middle test I took, which was with the NHS, came out negative. The GP though thinks I have chronic fatigue syndrome as my cells are normal size and B12 blood levels are coming

Intrinsic factor test and diagnosis
Hi guys, I'm new to the forum. Basically I've had all of the standard pernicious anaemia symptoms for about 2.5 years now, but not yet 'officially' diagnosed. I had been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, but rest didn't seem to help. 3 weeks or so ago I discovered pernicious anaemia and took

Very high anti-CCP results
Hello, I hope you are all well. I want to ask for my Father. He was diagnosed with RA in Dec 2020. At that point his anti-CCP was 256. His ESR and rheumatoid factor were also very high. He has been injecting Metoject for 3 months now, first 12.5mg, now 10mg. His ESR and rheumatoid factor have now

Negative ANA
Hi! I was recently diagnosed with PA because I have an antibody to parietal cell but I don’t have an antibody to intrinsic factor. I was just tested for a full ANA and it was negative, does this mean I don’t have pernicious anemia? I have so many of the pernicious anemia symptoms.

Intrinsic Factor Test
If a person is on daily or EOD B12 injections, could that affect an intrinsic factor test? Meaning, could that result in a false positive?

Not getting very far with Doc intrinsic factor
Spoke to doc this morning about all the symptoms I have been having over past 8 months Won’t check my intrinsic factor Cos he says it’s only done when the b12 comes back low .Ha. He says that 2 monthly jabs are only for those with pernicious anaemia .But I read out all the symptoms and when I had them

FET...it begins all over again!
Hi girls! Wow it’s been ages since I’ve put anything on here or since I’ve even last felt comfortable discussing my IVF/ICSE journey. So in the last 3 years, I’ve gone through a fresh cycle and a frozen cycle, both of which were unsuccessful. Then last year we went through a new fresh cycle but I had
