Had my bloods taken this week, the doctor just phoned me to say bloods were all normal, but the intrinsic factor hadn't come back yet. I have been ill for 6years, started with ringing in my ears, then chronic migraine then chronic fatigue, which has slowly got worse over the 6 years, I found an article

How b12 affects the blood results?
Hi everyone, Could someone help me with a question about b12 injections for my dad. After finally convincing his GP that he needed injections, and his mother had pernicious anaemia, he will not allow monthly injections, despite the psychiatrist recommending it for 3 months to re-assess his neurological

Intrinsic factor antibodies
So my Intrinsic Factor Antibodies test has come back as a 1. I believe this is normal or "negative". So no enlarged RBC, B12 at 402 in January and now this. Feeling just as bad...terrible neuropathy and neuralgia today. I just know that this will be one more weapon the GP will add to his belief that

Dr's visit as expected yesterday- he "doesn't believe" evidence I printed off for him :(
Well yesterdays visit to my GP was a farce as predicted, and once again, despite taking my printed sheets ( from library here and links sent via forum) I came away in tears. I took my partner with me as back up and another pair of ears and we both fared the same. Once again the Dr said "there is no indication

Pregnancy advice
I am currently 25weeks pregnant after a couple of years of trying. I was diagnosed with PA about 10 years ago via part 1 and 2 of the schilling test. No intinsic factor antibodies, more a lack of intrinsic factor. Anyway I have carried on with my monthly injections of cyanocobalamin as advised by my

blood test negative for RA factor. Could I still have RA nonetheless?
Hi I've been experiencing joint stiffness and neuropathy in hands, arms, legs, and feet since November '16. I had a blood test last week and it came back negative for Rheumatoid Factor. I also had the Anti-CCP test and that came back clear. Could I still have RA though? And is neuropathy a symptom

Intrinsic Factor and Gastric Parietal Cells Negative
Hi folks, Any advice would be much appreciated. I have today had my tests for IF and Gastric Parietal back and they are negative. My serum B12 is lower than last time but still high in range. I have almost all the symptoms and a family history of PA. I want to pay for private blood tests for Homocysteine

Follow up re my first post a couple of days ago to introduce myself .I had my 1st visit to Dr yesterday to broach subject of B12 deficiency.
Well folks, my first visit to my GP yesterday to discuss the POSSIBILITY of low B12 levels was met with just the suspicion and hostility that I predicted. I came away in tears and once again felt like I was wasting time and should really just get on with being a neurotic, 58 year old, depressed whinger

Enthesitis? I may finally be getting closer to the answer!
Hi guys - I've been a forum member for a while, but haven't posted much as I'm undiagnosed so I don't really feel knowledgable about anything here. But I wanted to share my recent success at finally getting a referral to somewhere which might be able to help me. I came across an article on the ARC website

How long to recover from 'not-anaemia'?
Hi there, new to the forum and have been reading some posts from users here since being found to be B12 deficient. I was having serious issues with fatigue, muscle weakness, and an inability to gain weight over several years. By the time it was diagnosed I was experiencing severe bouts of dizziness,

Will levothyroxine affect b12 deficiency tests?
Hello there! I've finally managed to get my doctor to look into B12 deficiency as a possibility for my symptoms (Hooray!) and I'm paying for an MMA screening myself. I just wanted to check if taking my thyroid medication, levothyroxine, is known to have an affect on B12, Intrinsic Factor or MMA tests

Scared
I'm so depressed and frightened. I'm due to see the doctor tomorrow, I had raised rheumatoid factor last week. Been having bad pain and hand stiffness for about a month now. The last few days I feel generally unwell, sleep is bad, ache all over. Walking is a struggle. I'm petrified that I have arthritis

Rheumatoid factor?
Hi I've been having pain and stiffness in my hands for about a month now. Particularly at night. General feeling of unwell, aching etc. Went to the doctor and they took bloods. It came back with abnormal rheumatoid factor. Number was 28. I have no idea what this means, but I really feel unwell.

Will taking B12 supplements influence Pernicious Anaemia blood tests?
Hi there, I recently had a blood test done which came back with the following result:
VITAMIN B12: 186 pmol/L 140.00 - 724.00
Which a number of people have suggested to me is low. I just wanted to know that if I take B12 supplements is it likely to influence blood tests for Intrinsic Factor
