Blood Result Help Please
Hi, I had some blood tests done last week and picked up a copy from the Surgery this morning. I would be very grateful if someone could have a look at them for me please as GP says 'normal' and let me have your thoughts. I am just so tired all the time, sleep very heavily, aches and pains, dry skin

The haematologist told me, at the end of my first appointment, that I should write down any questions I have for her and we will go through them next time. That's next week. Although my test results are: Intrinsic Factor Antibody: negative Active B12: normal I still have the following symptoms: hair

Borderline B12 test results - please help - no joy from GP
My b12 was 202 ng/l in Feb 2017 (reference range 200-900) - GP said normal and refused to do anything. I took sublingual for a month but seemed to do very little. Private text results on Intrinsic Factor Antibody result 3.00 Au/ML. The lab said this was normal. Is it? Gastric Parietal antibody test also

Self injections?
I'm in the US, I was receiving 1000mcg vit b injections weekly for 10 weeks. My intrinsic factor is fine, no bloodwork shows pernicious anemia. B12 is 800 now, was 250 range (200-900). I've now been told to use prescription nasal drop once weekly. I can feel myself going down hill. I've had ALL thyroid

Newly diagnosed
Hi lovely people. I've just joined the community because I'm having a bad day coming to terms with the likely diagnosis of RA. I only had the results of a blood test last Friday so I know it's early days, but I feel like the rug has been pulled from under my feet. I have a rheumatoid factor of 170,

Neurologist appointment wasn't too bad yesterday but still need help
The neurologist was nice: gentle, calm and listened to me, even though I was not at my best and ranted on a bit. Hard to get through 2 1/2 years of stuff, after waiting for 5/6 months (which I understand is quite good for neurology), without getting a bit angry or upset, and the appointment goes so

Consultant gastroenterologist
Hi all, I saw the consultant yesterday and he is doing blood tests for Coeliacs and an intrinsic factor, as I pointed out the last blood result was only 2ng/l from the bottom of the range which he agreed. Although he initially said it was "normal"! I will also be having a Gastroscopy & colonoscopy in

PLEASE HELP!
Hi, my name is Kennedy, I am 21 years old but I feel like I'm 90. It all started at the end of May/ beginning of June 2016 with nausea, vomitting and heartburn no matter what I ate. My GP thought it was a virus, walking pneumoia ans then GERD. Things started to ease up a bit in August as I headed back

Understanding intrinsic factor
Just wondering....my intrinsic factor was 2 last year. The test was done immediately after my injection, one the week before and loading doses 3 months previously. Would I have had a different outcome if the test had been done before all treatment ???

Reputable labs for B12 testing?
Can anyone recommend any labs for private B12, folate, ferritin, intrinsic factor, etc testing? My daughter has all the symptoms of B12 deficiency. Has been tested for thyroid function which is apparently normal, as are all her other bloods. Testing for B12 has not been carried out on the NHS. Have

Diagnosing PA
Can an enlightened soul out there tell me why doctors are only interested in using a positive antibody test for intrinsic factor to diagnose PA, when its false negative rate is something like 40-60%? Whereas a positive antibody test for parietal cell antibodies is around 80% accurate?

Newly diagnosed B12 deficiency
Hi everyone, I'm new here and have received a diagnosis of B12 deficiency this week. Thankfully I had already done plenty of research before I was officially diagnosed so I knew that I may have a battle with the GP on my hands before going in there. I received a result of 142 for B12, she mentioned

Help with self medication
I have posted previously and have persuaded my husband, who has been unwell for several years, to start self medicating, but I feel so confused with how to go about it. He has just gone gluten free but I feel he also needs to supplement with vitamins. His test results (non fasting) were as follows: Serum

I've had a phone call from the hospital asking me to come in for further tests tomorrow, my little boy was crying at the time so all I got from the woman on the phone was a blood film test, she did say 3 things though and I thought I'd remembered what she'd said then I wrote down where
