Why constant low iron issues
I need some help understanding why Im constantly having low iron issues. I was taking Iron tabs late last year after testing for low iron but I stopped taking tabs in January and was suppose to retest but I didn’t and last Saturday I “almost” passed out but as quick as that happened it disappeared

One (or more) steps forward- at last!
Some 17 months after being diagnosed with severe asthma, I have finally had my first hospital respiratory appointment! Up to now, despite being on many medications and continuous steroids since January, I had not even had any blood tests or chest x-ray. So on Friday I saw an asthma nurse, physio and

Can you have anemia with normal CBC?
I have low b12 but normal CBC and Hemoglobin. Iron levels are normal. I'm waiting on the folate test. Does this mean I am not anemic?

Has anyone tried castor oil to shrink nodules?
I have subclinical hyperthyroidism and a goitre with nodules ,I have been using castor oil topically to shrink my thyroid/nodules and haven't noticed any changes yet, though I have only been using it for a few months a few times a week. Has anyone tried this home remedy to shrink nodules/goitre with success

New Here
Kind of feel lost and mentally and emotionally overwhelmed. It started this week, Monday morning, found a hard moveable lump on my collarbone. First I thought it was a reactive node from my second COVID vaccine jab a few days prior, did an ultrasound and biopsy, still awaiting results, but the prelim

Why wait 2 weeks
I had a routine chest X-ray last week . Today I had a letter from my GP asking me to make a telephone appointment in 2 weeks time ... why ? If there’s no change why not say it’s ok ... if there’s a change why wait 2 weeks ..? I have asthma. Bronchiectasis. COPD

Xeloda Questions
I’ve been on Xeloda since late October, and love it for the most part. My only issues are my hands and feeling gassy. My hands aren’t peeling, but I think they’ve lost maybe 25% of their sensation, and they feel like sausages that are about to explode! Does that keep getting worse, or does it hit

Newly diagnosed with exercise induced asthma.
Started C25K last summer and completed it. I was sooo chuffed! I found it hard but I didn’t give up. Winter came, the cold air and wind was hard to contend with and I found it hard going again. I persevered and got to a stage of managing 5K every other day. Spring sprung and that did me in! Pollen!

MCV
Does anyone know what this means on NICE Guidelines" An MCV less than 95 femtolitres has a sensitivity of 97.6% for iron deficiency anaemia. In people with anaemia and an MCV of more than 95 femtolitres, there is a low probability of iron deficiency. My MCV was 83.4 fL

Advice for when GP won't act?
Hi guys, I've now had a second intrinsic factor antibody test (privately). Both my private tests came out positive for IF, but the middle test I took, which was with the NHS, came out negative. The GP though thinks I have chronic fatigue syndrome as my cells are normal size and B12 blood levels are coming

Appointment with chest/respiritory consultant on Monday.
Hi to all, I have been getting progressively breathless for over two years now. In November last year, I was taken into hospital with cellulitis and an infected leg ulcer and to begin with they thought it might be sepsis. The ulcer on my leg has only just healed after 6 months and I was having a nurse

HIGH FERRITIN
Hello partners We always speak of low Ferritin, because that condition is what can indicate that iron is low in the body and consequently in the brain, producing R.L.S. I´m suffering from PMML, and an ultrasound brain Doppler test confirmed insufficient iron in brain stores. But nevertheless I have 700

Mucinous adenocarcinoma
Hello I’ve had lower right lobectomy followed by chemo last year. Today I’m going for a follow up chest X-ray and having just looked at the form it’s says T3 Muc. Adeno. I knew I had NSCLC adenocarcinoma. So I’m assuming the MUC is mucinous, which I wasn’t aware of. Does anyone have/had mucinous

Intrinsic factor test and diagnosis
Hi guys, I'm new to the forum. Basically I've had all of the standard pernicious anaemia symptoms for about 2.5 years now, but not yet 'officially' diagnosed. I had been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, but rest didn't seem to help. 3 weeks or so ago I discovered pernicious anaemia and took

Lung vibration laying down 😭
After some words of wisdom please. So in summary, had pneumonia 12 weeks ago.2x antibiotics/steroids/inhalers. 3 x clear chest x-ray, 1x clear HRCT scan. Slightly productive cough persists, chest tightness/sob persist but most annoyingly is the lung vibration..... It’s only at night or when laying

How long should I go off iron supplements before testing?
Hi I’ve been on 3 prescription iron supplements a day since January and am having my iron, ferritin, and cbc tested on Friday. How long should I go off my iron supplements to get an accurate reading? Thanks so much

Back to Work??
Some of you will know that since my diagnosis 2yrs ago, I have made 2 unsuccessful attempts to return to my job working in a nursery class in a primary school. Over the past two years I've only managed to attend work for two half term periods! I absolutely love my job and love all the wonderful children
