Why constant low iron issues

I need some help understanding why Im constantly having low iron issues.

I was taking Iron tabs late last year after testing for low iron but I stopped taking tabs in January and was suppose to retest but I didn’t and last Saturday I “almost” passed out but as quick as that happened it disappeared so I ignored it because I felt fine but after a couple of hours of shopping with my husband my arms were so tired that even holding the cart handle to push was a struggle and then came the random palpitations, breathlessness and exhaustion unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in my life... agh and I should mention that Ive been experiencing more fatigue then usual for a month or so prior to Saturday.

I did restart my iron tabs the next day and within 2 days I started feeling great even my joints pain and moods have improved along with my stamina.

I would really like to understand why this keeps happening to me and yes I can talk with my doctor but honestly she just doesn’t seem to know why and she most likely will tell me to keep taking the iron tabs and retest.

I did have a CBC test done in Jan for Rheumatologist and It indicates I have low MCHC values which according to my research say anemia? Any ideas on this one?

If I retest how long should I stop iron before I retest?

Health history: Im thyroid-less, had hysterectomy many years ago and PSA.

It might be more complicated than this—but I think being chronically undermedicated for being thyroidless has a huge impact on levels of all nutrients in the body, not only iron.

When you’re even slightly undermedicated, the gut doesn’t work as well, nutrition isn’t absorbed as well as it could be.

So iron levels, B12 levels, Vit D levels etc all tend to tank over time. Supplementing brings them up for a while but as soon as you stop, down they go again.

I think in recent posts you’ve considered raising your T3 dosage? Are you still on 100mcg Levo and 10mcg liothyronine?

Hi Jazz, Thanks for responding and no I haven’t increased my meds so Im still on 100mcg and 10mcg but I did try adding and extra 50mcg of Levo per week and also tried to add another 5mcg of T3 by doing this my thyroid number plummet instead of rising and Im not sure why this keeps happening either but truth is I feel fine on the 100/10 and maybe this is because Im just use to it, who knows.

The anemia thing is a beast and not something Im accustomed too but it definitely has a major effect on my health.
