Could do with some advice.
Hi all, I understand that probably a lot of people post on here asking for a diagnosis which is most likely not possible, but I could do with some advice if you don't mind. I've bee struggling with intermittent chest pains for around 6 months now, sometimes with a few weeks between not having an issue

Testing times
My 80 year old neighbour is getting increasingly breathless. After a chest X-ray in March she was told in late April she had an enlarged heart and needed further tests. She has contacted the hospital for further information and been told there is a 20 week wait for the holter monitor and 40 weeks for

Should Doctor have prescribed B12 injections?
Please advise if anyone else has experienced similar, and what treatment was. Feeling very tired and on occasions breathless when walking uphill. Blood test showed small red blood cells, very low iron and borderline B12 deficiency. Prescribed iron tablets twice a day. Nothing prescribed for low B12.

Hello :) Last year I had blood taken and my ferritin was 86, at the middle of the reference range (15-150) However my serum iron was 65, in the low part of the range (50-170) Has anyone experienced high ferritin but low iron? I just had more bloods done and ferritin was 129. There was no serum

How often should varices be checked?
My husband had three separate episodes of variceal bleeds in the fall of 2020. Esophageal and gastric varices which were either banded or glued. Sent home and no follow up, nothing. Now 18 months later he was back in hospital with another gastric bleed. It took four endoscopies to finally locate and

COVID after Evusheld
I just got a positive pcr COVID test. I received my Evusheld injections March 22nd. So far I’m not symptomatic. We have a free testing program in our city and I get tested once a week. Has anyone gotten COVID after Evusheld? I have no antibodies from the vaccines and one booster.

Lung reduction.
Hi, I'm new to the forum. I got diagnosed with COPD by my GP last October after a chest x-ray. GP referred me to the lung medicine clinic, luckily got an appointment in January. My fev1 was 19% which explained why I was struggling. I didn't get to see my consultant at the appointment unfortunately. Prescribed

Sudden loss of ability to move?
Hello all, I haven't been posting much. But I'd appreciate your advice. On Friday, my husband was going about his day, had driven to the grocery pickup, got home, and then started to have small hallucinations (ants that weren't there) and vomited. He texted for me to come home from work, and in the

Serum transferrin too high
Hello there, I haven't posted for a while as I am fine. Since taking T3 all my various ailments have disappeared on the whole. Very fortunate as since my husband died during the first lockdown, it is just me with 3 children. This is about my daughter, 14, very tired, put on 2 1/2 stone in 2 years

Whether to push for a diagnosis
Hello All, my first post and I'm afraid it will be a long one but perhaps someone has had similar experiences and can help. I am male and 53 years old. I’ve had a diagnosis of Raynaud’s since my teens. Over the last ten years or so I developed visible red veins on the backs of my hands, forearms, feet

Esophagus problems
Hello from Florida, U.S. I have had this condition for years. Also hospitalized with what they thought was heart attack. My problem comes from eating anything dry and swallowing big pills like calcium. Millions of tests by gastroenterologist. One of my problems I have been told is from swallowing

News that worried us and studies that gave us hope (04/2022).
This is the information that gave us hope while my father was alive and has given hope to many since then (March 2012). 1. News that worried us. In the coming decades the number of Parkinson's disease patients is feared to increase very worryingly, to double by 2030 (Dorsey 2007) and even to triple

Can someone please briefly address my recent test levels. Please be aware I am decidedly unscientifically minded and find it hard to follow the science…and certainly to retain it ! So ..please give me numbers… I can’t quite get the whole iron picture ..serum iron, transferrin and serum ferritin… But
