Lung reduction.

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I got diagnosed with COPD by my GP last October after a chest x-ray. GP referred me to the lung medicine clinic, luckily got an appointment in January. My fev1 was 19% which explained why I was struggling. I didn't get to see my consultant at the appointment unfortunately. Prescribed Uniphyllin continus 200mg X 2 per day. Blood test revealed it wasn't helping so prescribed 300 mg X 2 per day which does seem to help a little. I also use a Trimbow inhaler twice a day & salamol inhaler as needed up to 4 X per day... I sometimes have to use the salamol inhaler more than 4x per day. I was referred for a CT scan which showed chronic emphysema & have been referred for either a lung reduction or Zephyr valves.

Has anyone had either the zephyr valves or lung reduction? If so could you let me know if either helped, recovery time etc. I'm dreading either to be honest!
