Might I have Mastocytosis rather than MCAS?
Hi, I experienced a very strange phenomenon last night that I've never had before and it's made me question my diagnosis of MCAS. I had a reheated (pretty old!) home-made cauliflower cheese. I had had it the night before too and it had caused horrendous bloating, which I'm used to (I have IBS) but I

Thank you lovely people for your helpful replies. The breathing has settled but I’ve had chest discomfort and felt very unwell for more than a week now. Chest x ray was normal and oxygen levels normal, consultant says not pneumonitis. GP has signed me off for another week as still not improving. Just

Update on rectal pain and bleeding during period.
So,I still have rectal pain and bleeding during my periods. I saw one of consultants from Endometriosis clinic in his private practise .He did vaginal scan and Speculum examination. Opioid Analgesics. Withdrawal from patients already prescribed long term.
I despair when I see this need for a person to get a "High" from a drug. These are the people who are causing medication to become higher class drugs and in the case of Codeine, which I am fighting the MHRA and Depth of health, to being withdrawn from sensible patients who benefit from relief of pain

Ascites
Hello, I was recently diagnosed with high grade serous ovarian and had my first chemo on Tuesday. Prior to that I was really suffering from ascites and was drained a few days before chemo. The ascites is back with a vengeance but suspect the Onc will want me to wait a few days before draining again

Cautious celebration!
Twelve months ago I could barely walk down the road without being dosed up with painkillers. Lots of them. This week I walked along the canal on two days around ten miles, no painkillers and nothing more than aching muscles. I've had twelve rounds of ibrance 125mg and letrozole. I've put on a stone

The Removal of Opioid's from Sensible Chronic pain sufferers.
My Letter to British Pain Society. Mr Bhaskar. I read with intent your articles on Opioid analgesics. Firstly may I add. I am currently in the process of starting legal action against the MHRA and their guidance published a few months ago regards to the prescribing of these particular. As a carer who

Nothing is working anymore
Hi, just needing some advice. I was diagnosed in 2017 and have since been taking a vast range of meds. In July 2020, I was in A&E for multiple nights with pain and was told I may have Pelvic Inflammatory Disorder. I had antibiotics and everything but that pin has never gone away. At the moment, my painkillers

Next step in getting answers?
Hi all, I've had problems with pelvic pain, horrendous cramping, painful sex etc for a year now, over the last 6 months I've had various tests. My ultrasounds suggested polycystic ovaries but my blood tests have come back as normal. I was prescribed mefenamic acid in Feb but it honestly doesn't do much

Flare up
Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone has had a flare up after taking the Covid vaccine. I read a lot on the internet that medications like prednisone should be avoided. This will help the immune system mount a good response. My regular painkillers aren’t working well too. Any thoughts will be appreciated

Pain that comes and goes post-period, worst at night?
Hey—if anyone could advise me here I would really appreciate it. My consultant is quite dismissive and there’s not a lot of information out there as far as I can see. Although I have cystic areas and adhesions seen via MRI, I have not yet been diagnosed with endometriosis as my consultant wants to examine

My 600lb Life
I am not one for either Reality TV, or football either. Anyways I was watching the Poland vs England World Cup Group Game the other day. I have tended to watch England vs Poland games since one years ago when theate Brian Clough said the Polish goal keeper was a clown. The "clown" went on to save a handful
