I've had problems with pelvic pain, horrendous cramping, painful sex etc for a year now, over the last 6 months I've had various tests. My ultrasounds suggested polycystic ovaries but my blood tests have come back as normal. I was prescribed mefenamic acid in Feb but it honestly doesn't do much considering my pain is daily and I'm very cautious about taking too many painkillers.
I am currently waiting to speak to my GP again but my appointment isn't for another 3 weeks. I have a gut feeling it's endo and I'm wondering what would be the next step to getting some answers?

Hey! so sorry to hear you’re experiencing pain etc. I’m going through the exact some struggles are you right now! I also had internal/pelvic scans to rule out anything abnormal. I was referred to a gynae and i have been now referred for a laparoscopy as this is the only reliable way to diagnose endo. I’m currently on the waiting list but i’ve been lucky enough to get an appointment for this month! i’d suggest pushing to be referred for a lap as much as possible, you might feel annoying but it’s the only way you’ll be taken seriously and get a diagnosis quickly. do you also experience bleeding after sex with pain?
Thank you for the reply! I had a feeling a referral would be the next step, I feel at the point where this needs to go further than a GP. I hope your lap gives you some answers, fantastic you managed to get an appointment fairly soon! I've never had a problem with bleeding after, it's just intense pain. I have pain daily and have a hot water bottle or heat pad attached to me most of the time!
Yeah the pain constantly isn’t nice especially when it’s the dull ache that lingers around your groin and back! i’ve noticed that caffeine, especially coffee and coca cola make pains worse so try snd steer clear of that for now to help with the pain! i hope you get a referral ASAP, and remember to push as much as possible! x
