Twelve months ago I could barely walk down the road without being dosed up with painkillers. Lots of them. This week I walked along the canal on two days around ten miles, no painkillers and nothing more than aching muscles.
I've had twelve rounds of ibrance 125mg and letrozole. I've put on a stone and everyone says I look well. No side effects. My CA 15-3 has only gone down 8 points in the last two months but is 349 points lower than a year ago. My mammary lymph nodes are further decreased and bone mets stable according to my recent scans.
I have a new partner in the Outer Hebrides and was bold enough to ask my contact nurse about internal flights and getting my meds when away from home. I feel well and am hopeful! If I can do enjoyable things and make some short term plans I'm happy. Just wanted to share. Carolynx

Thanks for sharing, it's always encouraging to read positive posts like yours. Really pleased for you in regards to being able to walk quite some distance!! And pain free at that.
At least your CA15-3 is heading in the right direction.
Here's to being able to see your new partner soon😊.
Carolyn I’m really happy for you! Such a positive post. Ibrance has done similar for me. (I can now get my knickers on and I traveled several times pre-Covid). Now get yourself in that flight! It will be so worth it. And bring us with you - or at least send a pic. Vicki x
Lovely picture and great news indeed! That’s quite a walk you’ve had, I think you’ve inspired me, as though I don’t sit I’m not walking enough after a bout of sciatica. Hope you get to travel to the Hebrides. My dad used to work for BBC Scotland and told us how interesting these places were but usually bemoaned the fact that many were “dry”. Not sure if that was one. It’s nice to have something to look forward to. Chris
Hi CarolynWhat a wonderful message, keeps me going, I’m going onto cycle 5. Just the sound of going to the outer Hebrides is healing in itself, I used to holiday on Islay and we married in the Highlands. So spiritual and serene in parts. You enjoy every bit of this good news to the full. Have a lovely day.
Very happy for you! Although I'm thinking you are healing also because you healed your heart ( new partner)- you also heal your body. 🙏🏻 May be all be happy and in love. The best therapy.
Thank you, yes I'd been on my own for 10 years since my husband died of aggressive prostate cancer, I'd thought that was what I had to accept but lockdown and the diagnosis made me go for it!
It’s great that you have been able to meet someone online during the pandemic and the friendship has blossomed ! I really hope that this develops into something special ! You deserve to enjoy life ! I have a 22 year old daughter in London and am always reminding her to be cautious online , never to meet up without telling someone you are going and never to give any money to anyone you meet online for anything ...tho’ I’m sure you don’t need this advice with your worldly travels ! Take care! Much love x
A lovely picture Carolyn ! And so pleased for you that all is going well ... hope you get to visit the Outer Hebrides soon and send us some beautiful pics ! Keep positive ! x
How wonderful! Throw caution to the wind and celebrate full out. You have many good reasons. Thanks for sharing Carolyn. All the best to you. Keep us posted on your new adventures.
Dear Carolyn---- When I was reading your entry, I got chills of happiness for you. Your picture is hot stuff! You are adorable. Go, girl! XXX OOO
Fantastic news Carolyn, and so lovely you are able to see the difference. Here’s to many more years of enjoying your lifeClare
That’s wonderful news and so pleased you are happy. There’s more to life than MBC and thank goodness you have found that. Look forward to a happier future. Best wishes Cheryl
That is awesome, Carolyn. I am so happy for your good news. I hope that your success with the Ibrance and Letrozole continues and that you are able to travel and enjoy life!
What lovely news. I have been sat here feeling very sorry for myself this morning as it’s my ‘down week’ off Ibrance when I feel rubbish, so it’s great to see a happy, smiling face enjoying the great outdoors and life. Make sure to keep us posted on your Scottish adventures 😊
So great! I’m having good luck so far with Xeloda and am also allowing myself to plan a little further into the future.....Montana in September for me!!!! Enjoy the Hebrides!!! Thanks for making us all happy!
God is good! That just made my day! I have had a rough 2 days but I think it's from being so active. I have bone mets also but as of Jan 22 I was stable and bones look to be healing. I have gotten almost completely off of my morphine due to spinal surgery however I do take oxy and gabapentin. I am looking forward to the day I can be off of all pain meds! Thanks for sharing you have know idea how much you lifted my spirits just by sharing your accomplishments! God Bless you and continue moving forward!!
Great news, I'm so happy for you. I've been doing well on ibrance and letrozole too, I understand how fantastic it is to have your movement restored and to be able to walk sending continued good wishes to you x
