Update on rectal pain and bleeding during period.

So,I still have rectal pain and bleeding during my periods. I saw one of consultants from Endometriosis clinic in his private practise .He did vaginal scan and Speculum examination. He said he doesn't see any sign on rectovaginal or deep bowel endometriosis and explained that laparoscopy is still the final say but it is very unlikely that there will be a significant find that would show the reason to my rectal bleeding. He said to find the reason for monthly bleeding I need to find out about my haemorrhoid .He found that I have prolapse and that might be the reason for pain and rectal pressure. I need to see a woman physio and if that doesn't help after some months I better see a urogynecologist

Hi Hana, You've probably already tried many things to feel better, but I have one idea that's worked well for me that I can share. It's a widget for perfect posture when using the toilet, called a "Squatty potty" or "toilet step stool".

A while ago, I had piles/hemorrhoids from too much pressure (constipation). So, although the doctor prescribed me anusol for the discomfort of the piles, I wanted to find some way for the toilet visits to be quicker (to avoid stressing my sore body by sitting too long on the toilet). So, I got a toilet step stool. It's really great! You just use the toilet as usual, but put your feet up on the stool for that perfect posture. It makes visits to the toilet much shorter and more comfortable. It really helped me to heal quickly from the piles.

Of course once the piles were gone, it became apparent there was a different problem - endo. But at least it was a way to deal with part of the issues.

I hope that helps.

Hi thereI am just wondering if you ever got to the bottom (excuse the pun 🤣) of the rectal bleeding? I have this every time I have a period. My consultant has done an MRI, I've had a laparoscopy and a sigmoidoscopy and apart from some mild endo on my uterosacral ligaments there is nothing to find and he has no answer as to why this is happening.

Hi,I haven't done laparoscopy but I got a grade 2 prolapse diagnosis after some inspections and since I started doing the pelvis floor exercises with a woman PT , the rectal bleeding has also eased down greatly.I haven't noticed any for some months now.
