Not sure where to get advice
Hi, a few months ago I developed bulimic tendencies (coming from a restrictive diet but lacking self control I think with age and stress from multiple directions) Wednesday was particularly triggering and I had a major binge just to purge. It didn't help! All that has happened is I've pulled my stomach

CBT/Hypno book recommendation please
I`m getting more and more stressed about my IBS at the moment - in particular worrying about possibly needing a loo in a hurry and I feel this is getting out of control. I have looked into hypnotherapy but cannot afford it. Does anyone know of a good book/online course which is helpful (I think I

The Lighter Side of PMR/GCA: An Inside Job? - a chat with Ade and Des (The Adrenal ‘Guyz’) about Organisational 'Team Work'.... ;-)
Ok 'YOU LOT': Don’t pretend that you didn’t ask for more of this BS (Bonkers Silliness). Haven’t you all got better things to do whilst getting on with the serious business of surviving PMR and / or GCA? As always, I blame You Lot for inflicting serious Mirth on yourselves via these ramblings from

Do I have an eating disorder??
Evening all, I need advice as I consume a total of 800 calories a day this is both drink and food as I eat a sandwich and drink a maximum of 900mills of fluid a day. Can this be considered an eating disorder? Weight has always been a major difficulty for me due to other health issues but saying that

snack idea
i have a new favourite snack. wholemeal toast rub on garlic (cut the clove in half and rub the cut side) if you have the cals 1/2 tsp virgin olive oil or rapeseed oil if not miss it out. top with tomatoes (good ones that actually taste of tomatoes) then salt (rock) and black pepper. Doesn't sound much

Healthy Low calorie Puddings
Hi guys, Any suggestions for a healthy low Calorie pudding. My husband loves puddings, but I'm trying to loose weight, so need something that suits us both. His BMI is 23, despite his pudding eating! I have frozen berries and apples, and was going to make a crumble with sugar only on the topping and

Update on my Diet 'Experiments'…
Hiya. This week went a little better. As usual, I ate 3 meals a day, averaging at about 1,700-2,000 calories. I cut out mashed potatoes this week! But I still have white rice, everyday. What I did change is that I unintentionally exercised less. I did about 30 minutes, sometimes less than that. So..

On the slippery slope back into binge eating disorder
I was discharged from the eating disorder service in February and was doing really well (I even lost some weight!), however after having a tooth removed a month ago, which required eating soft foods for a couple of weeks, I am starting to lose my grip on the eating disorder again. Trying to find soft

Binge eating and NHS pressure to lose weight
Hello, I don't know if I technically qualify as having an eating disorder but I think I'm on the verge of developing one. Long story short, I'm obese, fat call it what you want (BMI about 37) and under pressure from the NHS to lose weight. Every time I go to the GP they say 'lose weight' and then say

How do you know if you have an eating disorder?
Hello, I've been struggling with eating for 8 years now. I feel bad every time I eat, I'll starve myself, hate myself if I eat anything and I've been through a phase of taking laxatives excessively. There was one point not so long ago where I started making myself sick and I'm trying to overcome that

Paranoid about recovery symptoms
The symptoms I'm having in recovery (bloating, binge eating, excessive hunger, etc) are all symptoms of things such as obesity, metabolic syndrome, and diabetes and even binge eating disorder. So how am I supposed to determine if what is happening to me is because of recovery, or if I have developed

Recovery
I started recovery from a restrictive eating disorder about two weeks ago. I restricted for about a year with occasional binges. The first week of recovery I pretty much binged and now I have binged a couple times this week. I have extreme hunger and have gained weight but I feel that I have really developed

Eating disorder?
I recently signed up on here with hope that I'll find something's out and what I should do. I think I have an eating disorder but I'm not skinny. I'm 5,8 and weigh 128. I'm 16 (girl) I starve myself because I want to be the thin pretty girl everyone likes. I exercise for almost 3 hours every night in

Hard to lose the weight
Ever since I gave birth to my son a year ago i have been fluctuating in my weight loss like a yo-yo going up and down. I use an app called Happy Scales and tracking my weight progress. I wish it could be more consistent it seems like after you give birth your metabolism isn't the same any more. Everything

Todays activities... keeping busy and cooking!
Woke up to sunshine, which was not what the forecast had promised! Enjoyed a bit of a lie in drinking 3 cups of tea made for me by my lovely husband! After my shower, I decided to make the most of it and ventured out into the garden to water all the pots, hanging baskets, vegetables. Deadheaded some

Another Newbie. A question or two.
I recently found this site and am very impressed by the community support offered. I started to try and lose weight back in February and since then have lost about 24 Lbs. That represents about 8%. I am not obsessive honest. I have found it hard. I use "My fitness Pal", I think it's a great app but
