Hi, all. I'm a food addict, binge eater with stress and have a stressful lifestyle. I've been overweight all my life and was bullied as a child, in a time where "bullying" wasn't even a word... I tried different diets in my teenage years and nothing worked long term. And as the time went by I accepted the fact that I was just different from the norm and there was nothing I could do about it.
Only recently, I've realised I have to change! It's not about looks or other people's opinion... It's about my health and myself. I've realised I've been a fighter all my life, able to conquer most adversities but I haven't been able to fight and win against my biggest enemies: food and lazyness!!
That is going to change!!
Churchill said "if you're going through hell, keep going". That's my plan!! One day at a time fighting my demons like never before.
And to everyone out there fighting like me, keep going!!! The merit is on those that keep falling but don't give up!!

Take a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the NHS BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.
To the right of the HOME page (bottom on a mobile), you'll find Events. Hi Change4myself, you have come to the right place. There is lots of support available and each little step will take you closer to your goal. Good luck on your journey, keep posting.
Thank you for sharing so much, many of us can identify with what you are saying. I also decided that although weight loss is, difficult, the alternative is worse 😕
Hi. I am a food addict mostly sugary foods. I was teased as an overweight child as well 16 and under now 54 I am starting to shed the weight I used to be my comfort zone. I now want to grow into a beautiful flower with different shades of colors. And tell the teasers kiss my butt!! This is a great site with great encouragements and hints and tips. There is always someone here over the 24 hours of day. You sound determined and that is 1/2 the battle. You will succeed on your journey!!
My story is similar: lost of food offered when I was a child/teenager because my parents worked long hours, so always overweight. Then, I was critised by the same people by being an overweight young adult. And now, being 30y old, if I even mention trying to loose weight, no-one believes ill be able to (except my mother :)) I'm doing this for myself but if proving them wrong will give me a nice feeling
You can do this. You have the most important box ticked already which is motivation. Please read the information in your welcome post, there is some really useful stuff in there. I would recommend that your next step is to set your strategy. Some people count calories, some control portions, some don't eat certain foods etc. You need to find what works for you. I would also recommend being active on here as it seems easier if you are, pretty much any issues that you have will be something someone will have already come across. So if you are not sure about anything just shout. Good luck with it. James
I agree James40Cheshire . I used to think it was "just me" with my odd issues. It makes me feel so much better to read how other people cope and improve their lives. I can write a post without the fear of being laughed at. Everyone here is so supportive & non judgmental.
Please read some of my earliest posts on my profile, particularly the ones around how I lost my weight. I usually share the links, but my Mac has died.... and my iPad is rather restricting!
Pleased to have you as a follower! I agree with others that you sound determined and motivated.
Your head is clearly in the right place at the moment to tackle this. Time for change!
The new "you" will be a happier and more confident person.
