Please help. Binge eating disorder and depression? I think i need help.....
Hi i am a 19 year old girl and i think i need some professional help. I was just wondering if any one else has been through the same thing that i am going through and how they got help? I am seriously depressed and have been for over a year, although on the outside i seem just like a reserved introvert

Recipe for those who like cheesecake...
Cheesecake recipe for using up some of those lovely blackberries found everywhere at the minute. Preheat oven to 180*C ( about 350F or gas 4). Lightly grease and line a 7 inch cake tin with non stick baking parchment. In a blender whizz 175g cottage cheese, 150g low fat natural yoghurt, 1tbsp wholemeal

Can you grow out of allergies?
Apologies - not posted here for ages. I got sunburnt yesterday. For the first time in over 10 years, I have real sunburnt. My skin doesn't feel rough, I can't feel any polymorphic light eruption coming through. Is it possible I've outgrown the condition after all these years? Or, is it just as co-incidence

Mirror, mirror on the wall....
Jo Brand, the comedian, once said 'I think I'm anorexic. When I look into a mirror I see a fat woman looking back at me.' Well, when I've looked in a mirror, I've always seen a slim woman looking back at me. Even when obese. (Still don't even like typing that word) so what changed? I noticed my double

Ok, so they are not new. I've had them for a couple of years but they have been 'out of use' for about a year - the muffin top got a bit much. They FIT!!! And no overhang whoop! I'm very happy - now to lose enough to fit in to my winter woolie dresses (autumn seems to be rolling in fast!). I have

Taking a big leap!
I have had body images and issues with my weight as far back as I can remember even when I was a tiny size 8! I have been suffering badly with Binge Eating Disorder for the last 3 years and have gained a large amount of weight quickly in the last yr or so. I have not been diagnosed but have been into

As a follow on from my fruit question......
As some of you know I'm on a very strict low-fat diet for health reasons & I was concerned about the amount of fruit I was substituting for the 'naughty' foods. I had a long chat with the dietician yesterday & she assured me I could eat fruit freely without worrying too much about the sugar .. apparently

Hey beautiful people
Hello. I am happy to say that I have lost 1.5lbs last week. I am feeling really motivated. The weighing scales have always been the "enemy" to me. I find that the scales move slow. While dress sizes can be dropped quicker. So I was told by my doctor to not weigh but go by my clothes. Thats fine but I

Please Join Me for a Monday Weigh-in (17th August 2015).
Hi everyone, Last Monday I weighed 13 stone 4.4 pounds, and today I weigh 13 stone 4.2 pounds, so I've lost 0.2 pound this week. I am relieved to have some accurate scales, otherwise I might not have noticed any difference, but it all counts, however small...! :-) I have worked quite hard this week

A nice cup of tea..
After a wonderful break from work, Friday nights shiift eased me back with a 'soft' 13 hours. Unfortunately the same couldn't be said for last night, 10 out of 14 hours of sheer hell. I am sporting a sprained wrist and a whopping bruise that is going to be gloriously technicoloured at some point.

English cream tea
My adult kids and close friends from both USA and Australia got together today and invited me to join them. I had an inkling that they would all want to eat out and that cake would be involved. I decided therefore to forgo my usual carb rich breakfast and replace it with high protein eggs and fruit,

Pain no more (maybe) !!!!!!!!
It's been a day and a half. Had my epidural today and plenty of steroids so I am hoping this will take effect on my back over the coming 2 weeks. That's what the head honcho consultant told me anyway. They were fab at the hospital and made me feel very at ease. Hasn't happened before. So big fat thanks

Self-crusting corn quiche
For anyone who enjoys quiche but not the calories, here's an alternative. This is lovely cold or hot. Preheat oven 200*C. Put 15g butter in a frypan and thinly slice 150g onion, cook over low heat for 10minutes. Scrub and finely dice 250g potato, steam or boil for 10 minutes, drain and pat dry in

Morning All! I woke up in the middle of the night worried that I might have put weight on this week...the anxiety! I am definitely not going on the scales until tomorrow - I'm worried if I don't see what I like then it will fuel overeating (I'm only on week 2 so still challenging bad habits!). So

Week 31
Hi everyone, well it went as expected this week I maintained on the scale. I admit I have indulged this week in a few home made treats. I have been baking this week some old favourites of ours, veg quiche, cheese & onion pie and had a roast gammon dinner followed by home made beef curry patties yesterday
