More Bats than Usual
Hello Dearfolk, i know I have been absent for a while, first because my life got ridiculously busy, and more recently because of a major depression. I'm on Enbrel, and though my crp is in the normal range, I'm sill hurting enough to be frustrating, but I have become deeply dpressed, to the point that

I think Enbrel has stopped working
Has anyone else had the experience of Enbrel not working after 9 months? For the last week and a half I am getting progressively more painful and fatigued, back to what I was before starting it. My joints are swollen and painful and the fatigue is bad again. I can hardly walk my feet and ankles are so

Some folk here may be familiar with my condition after reading my recent "Desperation boulavard" post, for those who aren't, here's a brief rundown.... I stopped taking all my RA immune suppressing meds back last March. The reason being that I get recurring UTIs, one of which led to me getting septic

Enbrel is in the building!
Well to be more precise, swimming around my right thigh! A lovely knowledgeable nurse came and showed me how to use the pen which was delivered by courier yesterday. My sharps box is nearly as big as my dustbin. All good as of three hours in and nothing weird to report. I know it's completely psychological

Long and painful wait.
In a few days time it will be five weeks since I was last seen at the Rheumatology clinic and fit the criteria to be put onto a Biologic which they told me was going to be Enbrel. I had all the screens and relative tests and then the wait has begun. My lovely lady GP who had been through the whole RA

Epic mouth ulcers
Hey guys! So I've was diagnosed with BD about two years ago (22 yr old female) and have been doing ok since starting enbrel 7 months ago, but just got a gnarly flare. The sores in my mouth are massive, but the numbing gel I have you can only use a handful of times a day and it doesn't last long - does

Scleroderma vs. RA?
Has anyone here had an initial diagnosis of RA and then it was changed to scleroderma? I currently have RA as my diagnosis but as time goes on and I continue to do research, I wonder if what I have is scleroderma. I am sero negative and Enbrel has helped tremendously, but just not sure if RA is it.

Living with Rheumatoid Arthritis
I was diagnosed with RA in 1987 I was 36. I was treated with Penicilliamin then I was on gold injections until 2007 until I had a massive flare. During this time I still had quite a lot of problems with my hands and feet but could work full time and have a good quality of life. In Jan 2008 I started

Enbrel an Bechets
Hi everyone! I'm curious to see if any of you are using Enbrel to control your Bechets and if so, is it helping? Also, what are some of the side effects? My current medications are no longer working and my doctor is thinking of adding this. Any information would be appreciated! Thanks!

Bruise on tongue
Hello friends! Just wondering if anyone with RA has experienced this before? I was eating my daily vitamin (aka-a piece of dark chocolate) when my tongue suddenly began to hurt and swell at the tip. It then turned blue as in the picture and the swelling left. All in the course of a few minutes. I swear

Feeling positive at last
Had my first injection with Enbrel yesterday and was no where near as bad as I thought it would be after reading so many horror stories. They tell you not to read up on these things but you just have to don't you! It burned and stung for a little bit but was fine and no reaction on the injection site

Has anyone become allergic to enbrel for rheumatoid arthritis? I have t a Ken it with wonderful success for 11 years but 2 months ago began having recurring bladder and kidney infections, outrageous hives, and return of red, swollen joints. Has anyone taken the new medicine in pill form? Can't recall

Have had my first ever delivery of Enbrel today. The nurse is booked for next Thursday to administer the first injection and then will return a week later I presume to see how I get on with the next one myself. I have had a very busy time of it lately having been successful with PIP, OT visits and

Insomnia
Help please! Does anybody else have strange sleep patterns, sometimes I sleep normally, sometimes I have a little trouble getting to sleep... (normal I think you'll all feel) but about once a week it feels like I never actually get to sleep at all. Almost like I cat nap for 30 mins, wake then repeat
